I think saying Mediocre Garbage is a little too harsh. Sure, the combat has it’s problems and the older games feel more rewarding, but there’s fun to be had in it. Save for the bosses and times when I’d instant SSS and be all “…I did nothing to earn this…”, there wasn’t really any points in the game where I was very upset. Would I like a DMC5? Oh hell yes, yes please. But I wouldn’t be all that mad at a DmC2. I’ll tell you one thing, it’d be really annoying watching the press collectively going “nanananna~Told ya so!”. But I guess I’d have to just tune them out like I did the press for this game.

This, of course, assumes that a DmC2 would fix the problems with the combat.

Shh, there are only absolutes.

Well that’s in a world where we saw that ridiculous reveal trailer and had SFxT, RE6, NG3, and a load of other disappointments along the way to temper our expectations. If someone just finished DMC4 in 2008 and was just perplexed at how that game seemed to snatch failure from the jaws of success, you’d have a hard time convincing them that the next DMC game was going to be a mile worse.

DmC is way better than it could’ve been, for sure, but before NT got announced as the developer nobody worried about it being as bad as Enslaved or Heavenly Sword, so we’ve had these years to adjust our expectations. Nobody expected as much of this game as they would from DMC5, and in the end that might’ve been Capcom’s goal I suppose.
Maybe Capcom’s goal was to make sure the game sold poorly, and that people were against supporting the game to the point that they would do anything to support DMC5. So that way, when they do make DMC5, the 5 MILLION number is easily obtainable because BASED CAPCOM finally released a real DMC game.

There have been crazier things in the world. Probably.

That’s the entire problem. By calling this game “Devil May Cry” we DID hold it to the same standards as we would DMC5. That’s the whole point of a franchise. <span style=“font-family: ‘lucida grande’, ‘Lucida Sans Unicode’, tahoma, sans-serif; line-height: 1.7em;”>Over the past 2 years Capcom/NT has shown us that the game doesn’t suck as much as we feared it would, but it still failed to live up to what we wanted from a DMC game.
Bloody Palace has a time limit now. What?
How does one kill two tyrants in 30 seconds?

DMC4 have a timer on BP? Havent played that one actually. I just remember how it works in 3.

If i recall.4 also had a time limit but the timer would increase by what enemy is killed and etc.
dmc4 bloody palace added the timer, a nice addition. the following things give time:

each enemy has a set time value granted per kill between 2 seconds for the fodder, 5 for marionettes and up to 30 for blitz’s. then you get style bonuses per kill based on how high your style meter is when you killed the enemy.
then you also got time when you cleared each floor, that time was doubled if you were a true boss and didn’t take dmg

only annoying thing about the system is they gave more time for having a C rank when killing something than having a b or a. anything in the S ranks gave the best time though
Bloody Palace is easy as fuck at this point. I was at level 60 in about 8 minutes trying to die because I needed to get some sleep. Mundus Spawn does stupid damage now.

lol So Tameem’s Twitter is gone now. That was both a shocker and entirely expected simultaneously. Hopefully it means he’ll be working on DmC2 and just keeps his fuckin mouth shut whilst doing it.

Does that mean we could get taunting in the next one? =O

I assume this thread will be locked on Friday?
Why?
Because Metal Gear Rising: Revengance is out worldwide by Friday. You can’t enjoy both (false idol, etc) and nobody is enjoying this one except that guy and it’s hardly fair to have this thread serve as a ridiculing ground.
Is the Vergil DLC out yet? I actually want to see how that turns out.

Random thought, but so far I can get a skin for almost ever video game character in existence in LittleBigPlanet except for Dante. I would like that, actually.
Is it just me or does the environment in Vergil’s Downfall look just like a corrupted version of Paradiso in Bayonetta?
No its not. But taking into account when they said it would be released they have about a week to push out Vergil’s downfall.

Also Bob Barbas is glitched on bloody palace. I was low on health but so was he. I was like “I just gotta hit one more button then trillion stab him for the kill, and Ill have full health next level without burning DT.”. I did just that and it worked. The catch is that during his little death cutscene where you cant move btw, his orange bubble attack came up from the floor and killed me while i couldn’t avoid it. This is a great game.
