I’m all for a 1 remake. I would honestly go for a 2 remake considering SMG doesn’t fuck EVERYTHING up and there’s some actual lighting in the damn game. That also means they have to add shit and actually make sure the game is fast. Cause compared to 1,3, and 4, slashing in DMC2 was just horrible.
Apparently so. It’s best to ignore him and move onto more important things, like continuing to mock wannabe Dante and predict how low the framerate and crappy the combat is gonna be in-game (Enslaved demo is at 15-20FPS with canned combat strings and jumping has at least a second of lag before it actually happens, if anyone’s curious).
It’s the guys who made that pile of shit Heavenly Sword working loosely with Capcom to “reboot” the DMC series.
I’m sure you have questions about this. Yes, I know it didn’t need to be rebooted. Yes, I know that DMC4 sold more than any other title in the series and surpassed Capcom’s own expectations by their own words in their earnings summary. Yes, it’s a fucking retarded idea and yes, the new Dante looks stupid and combat is probably gonna blow.
A question: You have a solid gold statue of a woman sitting on a chair. Someone comes up to you and offers you two pieces to compliment that. The first is also a golden statue of a woman sitting in a chair, granted the chair has a different design, the woman’s figure and pose are unique, but from a distance… they’re very similar. The second option is a cheap plastic bag full of rat feces.
Which do you prefer?
Keep in mind they also mentioned Dante not being cool enough and feeling that Ninja Theory could do a better job of it.
edit: It could be worse, at least it’s not M.O.D.O.K.
Upon its release Devil May Cry 4 sold well in Japan and the United States. On February 20, 2008, Capcom’s president Haruhiro Tsujimoto announced in a press release that the game shipped two million copies in its first month, making it the fastest sequel in the series to reach this mark.[43] As of March 31, 2008, the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions combined to sell 2.3 million copies, according to Capcom.[44] As of July 9, 2008, the PS3 version has sold 304,652 copies in Japan, according to Famitsu.
There is none. This was a classic case of “if it ain’t broke, don’t try to fix it”. The more I read about Capcom these days the more I believe Inafune needs to fucking go.
I told my coworker about the DMC reboot and he didn’t believe me. He looked it up on his phone and watching any resemblance of enjoyment wash out of his face as the trailer went on was quite interesting. Of course he replied with ‘WTF IS THIS SHIT!?’
Edit:
Speaking of this…This recent interview with Inafunehas me worried about Japan…especially on their concepts of appealing to the Western audience. I understand companies are out there to make money but I enjoy a lot of the unique things that come out of Japan that often times can even influence Western games.
This is the reason. Knowing that with a simple trailer and a few screenshots you were able to suck some of the joy out of the world. If you haven’t ever tried it, do… it’s an intoxicating feeling.
