Excessive bitching and whining? Are we talking about the same dude? Nero was a smartass all the way up until Cardboard got kidnapped at which point he rage-smashed through pretty much everything. Now overly hotheaded (which, as you say, is indeed an anime-esque trait they gave him), sure. Whining? Not really.
The “fact” is that what you think of Nero is your opinion. I think he’s got way more pros than cons. Hell, I would play an entire game without Dante and just Nero. That’s how much he doesn’t bother me.
I like Dante a lot more than Nero but I don’t think Nero is that bad of a character. I actually liked his gameplay. It was a balance between the gun, sword, and devil bringer. I would always keep a shot charged while I’m wailing on demons and the I thought whole “GOW” throws people keep calling them were better implemented than GOW because I didn’t get taken out of the action just to do some QTE (the most you have to do is mash B to do more punches or something like that). It was short and sweet so you it didn’t interrupt your momentum. It gave you some i-frames but it wasn’t something that would make you win EZ mode on higher difficulties. Though I did like Dante a lot more because he was just so versatile and DT explosion shoryukens ( I don’t know what you guys call it but its when you go DT mid shoryuken and out of DT near the end. Does insane damage and it can be done similarly with stinger) was just so fun to pull off.
Yea, yea I know he had his bitchy KYRIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEE!!! moments but Dante has them too (LIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHTTTTTTTTT). I just overlook it has unintentional hamming up due to the writers. Basically the DMC games always have some emotional point to them (I never played 2 so I’ll leave that out). His story purposes, imo, didn’t really override his gameplay, which was very solid. Though I know a lot of people emphasize different things.
See, I disagree. I think the devs really wanted to introduce a new character into the mix. Otherwise they could have made the Devil Bringer a gauntlet that Dante gets from killing Boss in Level Whatever and using it that way.
Trish was meant to be a major character to the franchise. Trish should have been the playable character, not be overshadowed (other then Dante) and sexualized.
Can’t believe Capcom sexualized Lady too…
Yeah, I don’t know why they felt they had to play the fanservice game with Lady too. She’s still cool, though. As for Trish, you can thank the producer of DMC2 for why she didn’t stay on as a major character. He felt “Dante should be more like James Bond, a different girl every game”.
See, I didn’t really think so. Now in DMC4 where she’s got a suit jacket with nothing under it and cleavage galore…yeah, they’re definitely going for it then.
