Capcom unity video about “advanced” mechanics

It seems like a good antidote to soft lock is to make every move hit everything.

“start playing now and by Jan 15th you’ll be an expert”. Yes Indeed!

Also there’s a training stage semi-inspired by Bayonetta’s, but I don’t know how I feel about training on the banned stage from KOF13

If you have PS3 and not playing the Yakuza franchise WHAT THA FUCK IS WRONG WITCHU?

Saw some screenshots of secondary characters. The news anchor reminds me of Agnus but with a worse comb over while the demon mistress looks like a classic case of when botox goes wrong.

Didn’t the first ones come out on PS2? Never played those. I hate not knowing the full story.

Each game has a 30 minute recap or something of each previous game.

There’s an HD release of the PS2 games (1 & 2) but Japan only atm.

Yakuza 5 goodness (Hopefully comes out this year worldwide, only Japan atm)

Yakuza 3,4 are great games but as Mr.X stated they all have recaps of previous games. You could start anywhere!

3’s the best one, imo. I don’t like how Yakuza 4 is structured, but it was still pretty good. I hope Sega brings 5 internationally, but apparently they’re reducing presence in NA to just stuff like Sonic and Total War, which is why Anarchy Reigns almost didn’t get released and maybe why they dropped Bayo 2.

Sega is probably the one Japanese publisher that has its head further up its own ass than Capcom does, I guess depending on what you think of Nintendo.

Every time I go into Game Stop and see the DmC trailer I get mega hyped.

Really like the direction the music is going in this game.

Sega’s excuse is they have dodged bankruptcy numerous times. What does Capcom have to fall back on? Right…piles of money from piles of DLC.

I personally like four more than three because the 4 new characters added variety to combat. It just shows you how diverse fans opinions are on the Yakuza series. All great games with different things to offer. FYI Yakuza 5 got a perfect score from famitsu recently, this might be the best one in the series.

Went to a store to get Anarchy Reigns and the had DMC HD collection.

I totally bough it.

AR is out?

I didn’t like how the game pushed me off to another half an hour of tutorials and a different character as soon as I got to the meat of one character’s story. I think they would’ve done better to shuffle stuff around to keep an overall sense of progression and keep all the tutorials to within the first hour, which is what I liked about 3. 4 was basically four different half-length Yakuza games, and even though when you combine them you get more as a whole I didn’t enjoy any of those four chunks as much as I enjoyed Yakuza 3. Also, Yakuza 3 is when the combat stopped being a chore, imo. The Majima fights in 1 and 2 were beyond dumb, but the one in 3 actually felt really intense and not “I hope nothing dumb happens and I get juggled”.

What I meant was that both Sega and Capcom try everything to stay relevant except trying to make really good games, marketing them, and getting them to customers. It’s like they don’t realize they’re in the game publishing business and not the PR business. Sega, get the fuck off youtube putting takedowns on everything and try to run a business.

To be fair, Bayonetta’s training stage was the banned stage of GGXX.

9/10 game then.

Sega makes good games. Yakuza 3,4,5,Sonic Generations,Colors,Virtua Fighter 5 FS,After Burner Climax & Binary Domain. They also did a great job with all their HD ports like AM2 and DC titles. Publishing all the Platinum titles we’ve enjoyed till now was another good move by them. I agree that they have VERY BAD PR and business decisions though, which is what makes me hate them at times.

I didn’t feel out of it with the tutorials for Yakuza 4, you kind of needed them to get a hold of the characters. Yakuza 4 also had superior minigames which we all know are the meat of the experience besides fighting. Yakuza 3 is definitely a good game but I prefer the variety of the fourth game. You’d be surprised how many people dropped Yakuza 3 because of the first two chapters dealing with Kazuma’s run at the orphanage. For Yakuza fans we all understood why it came to that but many newer players in the PS3 thread lost patience. Which is one of the reasons why I recommend very picky players to try Yakuza 4 first since the story is more geared towards new people and there is much more variety. Playing as Kazuma is great but we all know Yakuza’s system isn’t deep enough to stay interested without varying styles.

I never denied they have bad PR but you need a LOT of money for that. Remember this company dodged bankruptcy multiple times. When a company delays a game SOLELY for financial reasons you know they can’t afford to even advertise. I don’t know how long Sega will stick around tbh but I do love their games.

SEGA sucks at promoting any game that ain’t Sonic. I was shocked Bayonetta got tons of promotion like it did with the commerical spots. I know the Yakuza series has sold decently but c’mon, that series could’ve sold a bit better with some promotions.

Thank god they got the industry masters of storytelling and the technology from Avatar to create something truly original and inspiring

I like how it’s all “we saved the day! YAY!” and then suddenly “hey Donte lets fight 'cos I’m bad now”.
