If whiners are morons, then what’s a whiner that only whines about whiners? Some sort of cvs2 ratio 4 moron?
Can’t tell if troll or just stupid.
…This nigga.
Man… not even I can troll this hard.
Fuck, competition here is getting steep.
Better go back to my ippo avatar and act normal again.
I’m gonna go with stupid. The simplest answer is usually the correct one.
Normal? By whose standards? You can’t fool us.
Try harder.
Yes, because R1+Forward+Triangle for Stinger and R1+Back+Triangle for launcher are so integral to gameplay, amirite gaiz?
If you’re going to use derogatory language, at least spell it properly.
No, guys, he’s right! When you play Easy Auto lock-on ISN’T as important!
It’s funny because one of the first beat 'em ups I finished was the original version of DMC3.
Misinformed, which leads to ignorant
The problem is that he barely knows shit about DMC in general, so he thinks that DmC = DMC when everything points that it simply not true.
This leads to stupid, so yeah, he is stupid
Is English your second language?
I’ll take the bait because it’s easy.
It matters a lot when an entire button is used up for single moves when they were just R1+stuff.
Swordmaster had Forward+Style and Back+Style with Rebellion. That button is used to now utilize JUST what WAS R1+Back+Triangle.
With lock-on, you not only have access to a numerous of moves, but being able to forces a direction to be forward allowed directional inputs which means you can have a lot more moves. And you know, not waste an entire button on them.
Comparing Nero to Dino, Nero has basically all of Dinos air Square strings, and by having forward+Triangle he does helmbreaker. That’s an entire button not used up because there isn’t a reason to. Then you take in the fact he has several other moves, just counting in the air, by using the stick in conjunction with his buttons.
I’m wondering if you’ve ever beat any of the DMC games on DMD outside of 2 (since 2 was piss easy). OneSanitarium already explained why lock-on is important. Regardless, taking a step backward and removing a good mechanic makes absolutely no sense. There is literally no reason to remove lock-on other than to just dumb down the mechanics to make the game “more accessible”.
Are you a hairy wizard?
Even the trolls for this game are casual. The feel of trolling, indeed.
You act as though lock on is the only thing that added any depth to the gameplay, or that any of the things you described are impossible with the absence of said mechanic.
sigh
Never played 2 because everyone said it was terribad, although, since everyone is saying the same of DmC, I may have to rethink that. Also, you seem to think that the only thing unique about the DMC series is their difficulty. The third and fourth games aren’t even hard. The only DMC I had trouble with was the original, because enemies did a LOT of damage. Play Urban Reign. That’s a HARD beat 'em up. Being surrounded by four or five enemies who can all do the same moves as you? That’s hard. And hey, guess what? Lock on is rarely a “good” mechanic in a beat 'em up. It was passable in DMC because DMC did so many things well. Also, explain to me how the removal of a mechanic that points you directly at an enemy no matter what you do is a complex mechanic, and how its removal “dumbs down” the game or makes it “more accessible”. I would argue the opposite.
Gotta love how the only element of my post people are disputing is the “lock-on” part.
Yes, actually.
EDIT: For anyone on the fence about this game who isn’t completely biased against it because it’s different from the originals, I would recommend playing the demo yourself, and also reading Ben Ruiz’s combat analysis of the game here: http://aztezgame.com/blog/2012/12/14/combat-analysis-dmc/
Although that’s just because I think it’s a fun read.
I’m actually not.
Just talking about the difference between DMC Lock-On and DmC without it. Don’t put words in my mouth.
It might not be impossible without them, but having them in a way that it’s not overly complex is preferable. What if launch was back twice+triangle, so you had to buffer the motions during combos, and not hitting it at the right time may cause you to do a stinger in reverse.
How would you have the moves done without lock-on?
Bayonetta had combo strings that lead to launchers on top of the lock on launcher option.
But one big thing that makes the lock on issue a glaring problem are enemies who can only be hit by certain “elements” making targeting the proper enemy more difficult then it should be.
Freeman, we’ve all played the Demo. We didn’t like it. Don’t romp in here like you own the place and assume no one here who is pointing out why this product is a massive step, hasn’t played the god damn free demo you retarded piece of shit.
Your insults lack punch, class, intelligence, and logic. Try again. Also, if you didn’t like the demo, you probably just don’t like Devil May Cry in general all that much, considering how similarly they actually play. No, it doesn’t play exactly the same, nor would I expect it to. It’s a reboot, developed by a different team. But it still feels like Devil May Cry, and if you’re seriously going to dispute that, you’d better seriously back it up.
Just a quick critique, you should put the insults at the end of the post, don’t start off with it. Also, respond to one-liners with massive rants and give one-word replies to long responses. Trolling 101 FYI.
