Devil May Cry!

Man that costume is not appealing at all.

That picture can’t be real…looks at steam…

So we’re taking design cues from:

People at NT never grew up out of their scene kid phase

Damn, I understand why O.Dante isn’t a costume, but why didn’t they just put out a shirtless Dante to pander to fans. I realize what NT and Capcom thinks about the kind of people who are going to buy this game, but why risk offending people with actual taste.

I saw that and thought someone hacked the demo…

kinda … looks … decent … maybe …

Is that…Eric Draven?

Honestly, wtf is NT thinking?
I hope all his costumes don’t look like shit.

Just make a blue mantis dude costume, problem solved.

Interestingly enough, DMC2 was my first DMC game and its actually what made me a fan of the series. It wasn’t as bad as you guys make it seem… Maybe compared to the other DMCs but, not as a standalone game.

And this costume is something that some people might have to pay for… LOL

Virtually any complaint that can be made about DmC can be said about DMC2 ten fold. DmC has an unlikable Dante? Well DMC2 has zero likable characters, at ALL. DmC doesn’t present a challenge? DMC2 is Baby’s First Devil May Cry. DmC’s restrictive in combat choices? DMC2 gives you three melee weapons that all do the same thing.

Zero variety, boring plot, SLOW gameplay (“feels” like 30FPS), easy as cake, and generally unenjoyabe. I think I might have been 11 or so when the game came out…I was easily amused back then. Running on walls and the way Dante flipped up after getting knocked down was the shit…for like an hour. After that I was bored out of my mind. Just…incredibly bad game by any standards.

Looking forward to it since I liked
the demo and I miss the franchise, just not a fan of reboots.

Kind of hoping that debunked RUMOR that it does connect to the original storyline but someone is messing with the time steam like the last Star Trek flick turns out to be true, at least partially. Not my ideal continuation of the series but I’d take it until Classic Dante returns.

What if it turns out that it really is a prequel and Donte is really Dante and he’s only like 15 and they just make up excuses about why everything is different?

I assume that the major reason that this “reboot” is set in an alternate dimension is to dodge all of the major criticisms of its regression as a game that it would get if it was actually canon to the original series. Because its a spinoff/reboot they can deflect any flak they get simply by saying “its a spinoff/reboot, we wanted to try something new and different”, even though that doesn’t excuse bad game design.

They still kept too much of the old stuff around, so that everything they changed looks like a mistake. It’s in the uncanny valley of DMC design, where it’s not some deviantart hentai drawing (Enslaved) but it’s not anywhere close to a Scarlett Johansson (DMC)

Though, this sentiment would be rendered moot if Capcom decided that any new games in the franchise, whether they be made by Capcom themselves, NT or even the do no wrongers at Platinum, would follow the continuity that Tameem and Co. started.

I really doubt they would do that unless DmC somehow outsells every other DMC game by a huge margin.

So I’ve been playing DMC1. The last time I played this was about 4 years ago, and I never finished it. No wonder people say this game is hard; all of my deaths so far have been all thanks to the shitty camera. This camera sucks dick, good god. Fun game though.

What’s going on in the land of DmC? New story development?

I request more[S] Metal Gear Rising gameplay , [/S] I mean, DmC gameplay.

Yeah, that.
