Thats pretty much what this game is. Has the pieces of a good game but lacks that oomph and impact.
DmC’s platforming is mediocre/easy. It’s so damn easy, you can’t even really mess up most of the time. Getting Lost Souls seems to be far more challenging than the platforming.
If only their PC support was as good as it’s ports.

Check his channel out, lots of good tutorials for DMC4 from him.
I think he pretty much nailed NT’s developing style with his comment about making you play the way they want you to play. Enslaved’s demo wouldn’t let me fail a jump I was trying to miss.
Did Bayonetta ever reach the level of DMC’s Truestyle stuff or did no one ever make combo vids for it?
Yea ther’s a lot of great combo videos out there for Bayonetta.
All from the same guy

NT DMC took away options for no damn reason aside from making the game not require thinking like they did with the platforming. I like how a game that doesn’t force you to choose styles and doesn’t force you to pick weapon alignment and doesn’t force you to learn the harder tech, had to be dumbed down.
The only thing DMC might really have to offer over the others is maybe a better or rather more in depth story in the actual game itself.
Fuck had the wrong link in my ctrlv

TLDR version:
Kratos May Cry
good question. I’m hoping to change that in the future, and no, not that I know of.
here’s my favorite Bayo player. I’ve posted his a few times but they’re so epic that they need more love.

I really liked how he broke down the demo on what was good and the faults. This guy made me pick up dmc4 again after i stumbled on his channel a few months ago his tuts were really helpful!!
I’m going to have to disagree with one thing this “chaserthewolf” fellow has said.
I think the art direction is super mediocre save for some of the environments. Other than that, he was right on the money.
Agreed, the DmC art direction looks mediocre, the only think I like are the dynamic transforming backgrounds.
I have a lot of fun comboing enemies while on platforms. It’s just fun to do Rebellions or Arbitors F, F + Triangle on an floating opponent. Can even do two hits of Rebellion and flash change to the scythe and have the bottom of the hitbox catch them, then use its O attack to move them into a decent position in the air above you.
I do wish rainstorm had more use though. I would love for the game to be good, but you have to try so damn hard to create interesting situations. Everything just feels so standard. Hopefully one of the new weapons in the final game can help to remedy that, even if only slightly.
FYI,
I’m totally working on my own YT vid of why DMC2 is no longer the worst DMC game of the franchise.
and yes, I’m serious.
get ye’r popcorn ready.
Heh I’m interested to see this.
everything in DmC is mediocre.
I wouldn’t mind the transforming backgrounds in DMC5…just sayin.
But yeah that DMC2 video is on my must watch list.
I remember DMC4 ran on full settings on my 10-year old PC with garbage-ass specs. I have the PS3 version, though. Bought the CE of DMC4 for like 20$, my DMC collection is fully complete outside of the HD collection(which I will get eventually, I want to run through those games again on my PS3.)
Yes, I own DMC2, but it came with the first collection Capcom put out, before the HD collection. It’s similar to the Onimusha collection(which I would buy an HD port of in a second, Onimusha 4 can not be included and I wouldn’t give a fuck.)
