I’ve completed 1 before and some of 3 a long while back. Any tips diving back in? Lookin back, i definitely Wasnt a button masher but i also Wasnt about jcs and all that jazz - definitely gonna have to see what’s on offer now. Hmm…is 2 really as bad as folk say, i was thinking of doing them in order?

For DMC3, the advanced shit is not necessary but helpful but mostly for showboating purposes…
What you do need to know is that you should use jumps as tools to evade stuff as well as rolls… jumps have a shit ton of invincibility(like from the beginning, to the apex, I think short hops invincibility last till you hit the ground)…
If you’re curious about advanced stuff, there is a series of videos on youtube… but it’s all impractical imo… use it when you beat the game and got all them weapons and alot of techniques…
Also get stinger for rebellion asap… air hike is also another priority(not before buying blue orbs and maybe some DT purple orbs when u get DT)…
Upgrade swordmaster and trickster first… then the others because they aren’t as good…
I think that’s all…

Anybody else notice how the in-game commentary blatantly tells you what you’re supposed to be doing and where you’re supposed to go? I don’t like it but, I guess it’s just another way of making the game “more accessible.” Other than that and the horrible player, everything was OK. The platforming elements are different but, I can deal with it. The gauntlets look boring as hell, though.
Something that’s not PS3 exclusive, maybe? Those seem to always be AAA titles.

What’s the opinion on the shotgun’s new properties. It pops up instead of blows away, juggle implications being hella different than they used to be.
nothing, changes to shotgun dont really hold any weight when it comes to shit most dmc players care about. i do hate the way it sounds though but eh. im sure something will be big and explosive weapon wise either by upgrading the shotty, or maybe that laser weapon thing.

Let me ask you, Jack_Frost… What do you think of DmC since you feel that there is a lot of ‘crying’ going on in this thread?
Are you okay with 30fps that “feels like 60” and a more limited, restrictive battle engine? Or a main character that if he were real, would probably get decked at some point with his douchebag attitude? You don’t mind on-disc DLC for things that were traditionally unlocks in the original games? Do you see no problem with a company and developer insulting an established fanbase who were understandably upset and legitimately upset when these things came to light and they began to voice their misgivings about the direction of the title?
Don’t misinterpret my questions as trolling or some such… You are entitled to your opinion and if you like this game, then cool. I am legitimately interested in why you support this title, even though it is such a radical departure from the established, successful formula…

people over exaggerated but in comparisons to DMC1,3, and 4 their complaints are actually legit. Just over exaggerated complaints and unfair comparisons, like the people who played 3 first then tried to play 1 & 2. they say the same thing but their opinion is not really solid. it’s like comparing SMB2 to SMB World.
but for the people that I know who played DMC2 first they thought the game was great for what it was and not as of what it failed to surpass when Capcom Studio 4’s direction was not to expand upon the game but to change things unnecessarily. Ironically NT takes that same exact route along with taking tons of elements from that game which was from a “failed” game.
Just play the games in order, bro. It’s the real DMC’s so you can never go wrong with that.
