DEVASTATION 2009 : June 19th-21st : $10,000.00 in Prize Pots

Iceman, PM me. I’m considering coming as well.

Just a quick FYI…

You aren’t pre-registered unless you went to the site, registered, selected the games you want to compete in, as well as your preferred player badge and t-shirt size, and then paid the entry fees. Just posting in here doesn’t pre-register anyone.

I’d also recommend getting pre-registered soon because the registration fees will be going up, the same as they do for Evo.

:angel:

There are a lot of Tekken and Soul Calibur players from SoCal rolling out here. I’m also sure there are a lot of SF4 players coming as well. Should be pretty easy to find a ride in the LA thread.

Please post up your findings as I’m sure a lot of people would be interested in them.

www.cheaptickets.com- from Atlanta to Phoenix on Thursday, June 18th, returning Monday June 22nd= $266 round trip…

Thanks for looking out. The cheapest I had found for the exact same round trip was around $290.

I have not issued a statement on this factor because there is no estimated number to satisfy my team.

T.i.T is the very next week, soon after that we have nationals in colorado so we wont be able to make all three tournaments only 2.

So I am attempting to plan the trip that is the most profitable for my entire team, whether people take it as arrogance or cockiness, ATL is solid in SC4 and Tekken, the pots must compensate or else we cannot show.
T.i.T. was expected and is to us still expected to have more legit SC4 comp, “IF” the pot goes to $2,000 guaranteed then we would be set in stone, if not we will be iffy for at least 2 more weeks

Im getting so excited this is my first tourney ever.

I definitely understand planning a trip that is most profitable for ATL as a whole. I would do the same thing in your shoes. I’d also love for your crew to attend both TiT8 and DEVASTATION (which is what I will be doing).

With that said, let’s compare and contrast, get some feedback and see what myself and the other DEVASTATION organizers can do to get the ATL crew to Phoenix. Your crew plays SC4 and Tekken?

TiT8 is a week before DEVASTATION. If you win SC4 you’ll take home $800. There are no other guaranteed cash amounts for the other games at Tit8. Tekken 5: DR will be played, but looking at recent tournaments for the game it’s unlikely to get a big turnout.

DEVASTATION has already guaranteed $2000 for Tekken 6 (which won’t even be at TiT8). We’re close to announcing what the pot amount for SC4 will be.

If your crew wins Tekken 5 and SC4 at TiT8, you’ll walk away with $800 guaranteed ($1250 if you take all of the top 3), and maybe another $250 or so for Tekken.

If your crew wins only Tekken 6 at DEVASTATION, you’ll walk away with more than what you’d get from Tekken and SC4 at TiT8. I can also guarantee you’ll get more from winning SC4 at DEV than you will from winning Tekken 5 at TiT8.

Does DEV not look to be the more profitable tournament no matter what we announce for SC4?

Quick Summary:

TiT8
SC4 = $1250 (total pot)
T5 = ~$250
Total = ~$1500

DEVASTATION
T6 = $2000
SC4 = Unannounced… but only for comparison we’ll say $250* just like T5 @ TiT8
Total = ~$2250

*I can confirm that the DEV pot for SC4 will be higher than $250.

Dr. Dogg if I could add…

Also…if your crew wins on the SNK…they’ll can get up to $1500 in bonus pot money (in addition to the pots) plus they will be on my Raging Storm 2009: Phoenix DVD that I am making upon the conclusion of this event!!

DEVASTATION 2009 FOR THE WIN!!! Some European players like Ryan Hart didnt even know about this and now I got them excited!

Honestly not be and sound like a dick but… NO

Main reason is because the State of Ga does not have Tekken 6 yet, only Tennesse does in the South, We are solid in Tekken in general no doubt, the best community outside texas when it comes to tekken BUT our experience n T6 is vastly limited compared to SC4.

SC4 would be our main, guaranteed and most important pot, that’s why I am pushing more for SC4 to be $1200 and higher at Dev.

Believe me I want us to attend BOTH but we have too many tournaments that are conflicting and my crew isn’t made of money and I cannot fund the same amount of people for 3 consecutive trips.

It’s not your fault or your tournament directors fault so do not feel like I’m blaming you or making you change your criteria’s just for us. We realize we cannot have our Cake and eat it too.:rofl:

Round Trip Tickets start at $268.00 and as high as 4500.00 due to the city the tournaments will be held in, it would make no sense for us to attend just to get our flight ticket money back for only ONE person (That person whom ever it may be who gets #1)
Yes it sound HELLA cocky that ATL will just take SC4 at either location… All I can do is say… Well what else are we supposed to think… were supposed to come in as losers??:rofl:

I probably won’t be able to make it out to Evo this year so we’ll see what’s up with this.

Everything you’re saying makes perfect sense man. I didn’t know ATL was lacking a T6 machine.

I know ATL has solid players. I have yet to play any of them in SC4, but I was in ATL for the Tekken 5.0 arcade regional.

I’ll definitely see what can be done. I don’t foresee an issue with at least matching the TiT8 pot amount, so wait for the soon to be announced SC4 pot and we’ll take it from there. :china:

The Prodigal Son better be heading out to Phoenix this summer. Is he playing SC4 at all? I know he plays everything else, but I’d like to see what his SC4 game looks like if he picked it up.

Hopefully you can make it out. Things are heating up and we aren’t even done with our announcements.

Trust me I’m doing my best to get Ryan Hart out here…but we do have 1up (Europes best KOF 2002 player) confirmed for sure…Ryan Hart is having some “financial troubles” right now as I am sure we can all relate…but he has said if he can make it he will definately attend…

The best thing to do is NOT come to devestation.Because you WONT win the money :wgrin:

I think you needs to do a back ground check little man, the most destructive, productive and dominating force in S.Calibur 4 today IS ATL.

The Most Majors: ATL
The Most Team Tournaments: ATL
The Most Local Tournaments: 3rd

From RTD to the East Point Crew & The Impact Players

We Buried Tekken DR at Final Round as well.
Anyone in there right mind wouldn’t count ATL out the pot when we’ve been in the top 10 of each game for almost 2 years in both… IF THAT :confused:
