I’ve always wanted to go to one of these. Just be nice to visit the warm state and check out what competition is like closer to the west coast. I’ve been to Evo 2 times but it would be cool to try something different. You guys doing BBQ this year?
Also…is everything on console? Mainly asking about 3S. Hopefully I’ll have my stick fixed up by then if there’s any chance I’m going to this.

You betcha - the stick set ups will be there - gonna have a Uhaul full of equipment haha… but seriously - a Uhaul full.
Everything is on console and we will have sticks on-hand should you need them. You can check out the site so see what they look like. Stand ups with supers and comp buttons - classic American 6-button set up. You for sure can use your own if you want though.
Right now the BBQ is up in the air - That has just been a money pit I threw cash down in years past and, this year, with the prospect of hundres of players it just might be feasible. We have a designated area for eating and we will for sure have water/soda/chips/candy crap soo not sure yet on what lunch/dinner will look like.

Honestly if you had it in march like last time, i would have the ability to go. I planned on going out of town to a tourny some time in that month. I thought it was going to be your tourny since i didnt get to go last time :sad:

March was not going to fly with the way Easter rolled up in there and competing with some other tourneys. It should be a Feb thing from now on… is good time to come out here and enjoy the bestest weather around.
Hey Mash - yea man - casual set ups galore. Of course, if we have time and peeps want it we will ALWAYS throw another tourney in there, just trying to keep it realistic for the time we have and stuff.

no one really joined last year. no one plays it =(. but if it does well casually or as a side tourney this year, it “could” come back

Either way, I’m hyped.
Yeah…A3 is just tough to gather real tourneys for these days. The game was at its height for tourneys a long while ago it seems. Alpha Anthology didn’t do much to bring any of the tourney games back since hardcore fans were real picky about the differences in each version compared to the arcade. The only thing that has really made any sort of resurgence is A2 due to GGPO. Helps that it’s a bit easier to get into than A3 as well.
A3 seems to just bring the same handful of people that have been playing it for years. At smaller tourneys…usually doesn’t bring anyone at all. I haven’t really gained any interest in playing it myself…I’m one of the GGPO A2 bandwagoners. If you guys are doing A2 I’d be down for that as well.
As far as BBQ…I’ll definitely travel across the country for good BBQ. Especially if I get to press some buttons in SF as well. Looks like this is still a good month or so away. Let’s see people get hype for this. Hoping for at least more than 40 people for Threes.
haha looks like im going to my first tourney in az. but i will still represent long beach RFC even though i live here in casa grande. if anyone is curious to test my skill i be there this coming sat hopefully(12-22) to test out the 3rd strike machine. but you can count me in this tourney. i’ll see if i can get some of my peeps to join the fun too. later kids
