Far st.MP -> cr.LK is a plinkable 1f link. However, even if it connected most likely you’ll just drop them after hitting with the 1st hit of tatsu.
I said st.cl.mk , but I am not sure that is even possible in AE 2012. it depends on knock back.

If you’re in the range of a close normal, MP Palm will always combo, because cl.st.MK moves you forward a lot. It might have decreased, but it shouldn’t be little enough to make MP Palm uncomboable.
But the problem is whether cl.st.mk will come out after Forward MP. if it does. Awesome! This will strengthen Gouken’s mix up game hugely.
Currently it won’t even come out after a close st.MP unless you walk forward in between (and even then it doesn’t work on someone like Hakan), so most likely no.
This is only a 1 frame link IF you did the meaty overhead on the exact frame where it connect in the last frame. Incredibly difficult to do already. Plink it to cr.lp or cr.lk will probably only combo with lp.palm or tatsu or super… which the tatsu will likely whiff and so would lp.palm.
Ok I guess we will have to see but I’m not optimistic about this being usable.
I don’t see the timing for far st.mp, cr. lk a problem. Isn’t E.Ryu Mk axe kick, cr. mp the same? yet people still are able to combo it. What I fear the most is the distance issue with Tatsu. As street11 mention before possible whiffing will be a problem. Hopefully my premonition of this theoretical combo works.

we already have a GREAT hit confirm into tatsu off of cl mp. good old cr. lp. you have a lot more time to hit confirm the cr lp than a cr hp so its pretty hard to miss. and you have so much time to think about it after you hit the cl mp. not to mention if you have half a stick of butter, you can hit cl mp, cr lp xx lk tatsu FADC ultra 1 pretty consistantly. i really see the new far mp as a poke move more like shotos have cr mkxxhado.

Yea it would make him way too easy to play also. Being able to link Standing or crouching Hp from jabs would almost break gouken lol. Thats brainless easy damage! even if it was a 1 frame link lol

I was at guard crush yesterday(blown up by Spab rog’s fuerte) and there was some talk about how far st.strong will be a good tool against grapplers now. and I could onlty gape at how I didnt realize this sooner. Although it wont be too safe since it wont be a safe blockstring with hadouken. I say it wont be safe becuz I was shown exactly how unsafe clstrong into hadou is. Been gettin hit with EX drillz yo. so max range is a MUST! maybe it will be akin to gief far st.strong with a little less range?

I refuse to see how im trolling sir! I SAID it would be nice to link into far standing HP or SWEEP! Yes in order to do that we would have added hitstun on jabs and being able to link into sweep would mean we could link into crHP. Im just saying it would be nice and would not make him too brainless of a character. Its not like our Oki is godlike or anything, but being able to do EX palm, combo’s off a jab would be insane lol.
I think we can all agree that Jab into cr or standing HP would be crazy and the developers would never do that lol.
