As far as I know, it’s just that the PC (well, a decent-good gaming rig, maybe not a low end one) IS stronger than the PS360, and is expected to match it. So to some, looking and running “as good as” or “a little better than” their console counterparts isn’t very good.
Personally, I wish the character models were a bit more detailed. But that’s me.
Still enjoying the hell out of the game though. Going to install it on laptop and see how well it runs on a weaker system.
Even still it’s a far cry from ugly. I wish the Character Models animated better. They can be janky at times and seem to move just to move during conversations.
Beat it yesterday. Pretty solid game overall. The only major gripe that I have with it are those retarded boss fights that you can’t avoid. They go so far as to say you can get through without killing anyone, but you HAVE to kill them. Really dumb. I went the non-letal route the whole game, but somehow I didn’t get the achievement, and I have no idea why, since I avoided killing people at every turn. Annoying.
That said. Still up there as one of the best games of the year, along with The Witcher 2.
Liked it a lot, more freedom then Deus Ex 1 in terms of finding alternative paths and the design is fantastic. Graphics are old yeah, but the design, the sound… it’s a great atmosphere overall and there is many hints to Deus 1, not just the D Project but Everett Mails or Manderly ones. The game has flair and except the graphics and easy bosses, it’s very well designed and styled through. I still think there is some gabs or odd moments, but maybe its cause there is more to come before they roll to Deus Ex 1 or past that again.
It’s not as good as Witcher 2 in my opinion but it’s a very good game and unlike Duke Nukeem didn’t kill the franchise.
Oh yeah, would love to see how the whole mech’s into nano tech gets rolling along. Maybe a game where you play some sort of helper to Bob … like Simmons…
Just finished it, game is good. Game of the year? Naw. My next run through (before picking up Dead Island) I think I’ll kill everyone and everything and hold on to my pistol.
The game was decent, just too short imo. China seemed rushed. Detroits side missions were long and pretty good, China’s seemed like “OK ALRIGHT WE ARE DONE PROGRAMMING JUST PLAY THE GAME NOW”
I just got Deux Ex Human Revolution for Steam, hope it is good. Although it sucks you can not go all steath because you have to fight some bosses and stealth will not work on them.
I REALLY like the game so far (I think I’m almost done with the China portion), and my only real gripe is the inventory system. I guess I’m just one that just likes to keep a 100 guns on me at once. Oh well.
Word, the inventory is pretty much the only thing that I have a problem with in this game. I never have enough space and I just dont like to get rid of the shit I have.
I imagine a lot of you have finished the game and shit but im still in Tokyo or China (wherever it is), the area you go to after you leave Detroit the first time. Well, I dunno if you even go back to Detroit and if you do if you leave again.
Anyhow, im happy that this game keeps getting updates on the PC. I have been having an issue with the game stuttering and it just made it hard to look at. I thought it might be my PC but Ive ran other games that are more graphically intense than this one and they ran fine. Sometimes the game looks fine and other times it would look all stuttery no matter what I had the settings at. But they updated/patched it and it works fine now.
I read that there is going to be DLC for this shit and I think thats pretty cool. Maybe I’ll have the game finished by the time that shit drops but for some reason I dont think so. hehe
I love this game. I figured there would have been more praise here on SRK but besides the boss encounters and no NG+ and the select an ending I was impressed with this game through and through. I beat it on hard with the EXPLOSIVE PACKAGE dlc and that extra mission was cute but too easy. It saddens me that the kick ass grenade launcher gets such a short time in the lime light though. Having to wait so late in the game to use it blows.
For people who complain about the inventory you guys are strange This game strives to be as realistic as possible about the character but carrying around 80 guns is cool with you? How did you guys play RE4 then? Probably would have lost it playing that game. If any man could carry a whole arsenal around then he’d own this universe for free and then they’d have to manufacture EMP resistant box bots have you fight tanks and helicopters to match your firepower. Be an entirely different game then.
I need to find the time to sit for a few hours and grind for praxis kits off of Adam’s computer (you can clear the cache on the 360 to make use of that launch day glitch) so I can start a GHOST and EXTREME MURDERER run with full stats. Should be fun.
