There are games out there that get you sucked in and you’re engaged for a while. Destiny doesn’t do that for me. I’m hoping that end game and expansion will fix this.
Also dont forget for the 6 man raids, theres no matchmaking. A full clear is expected to be 2-3 hours once you have it down. A big gaming clan played it for 16 hours and weren’t able to beat it. You need to make your own 6 man group, and coordinate everything yourselves, in order to beat it. Also since 0 is known, it will probably be awhile before you can “Farm” it, per say. Not sure how many bosses there are, what the loot structure is like, hell apparently even opening the vault is a challenge in and of itself.
I’ll definitely be watching some streamers attempt it tomorrow lol
The only MMO I’ve ever played is FFXIV, so that’s all I could relate it to lol. Point received anyhow.
This doesn’t sound good… I don’t want to hit Lv.20 just to play the same shit over and over with the hopes of getting a piece of equipment that’ll hopefully level me up enough to do something different… Why do people keep implementing that model? It isn’t good game design, nor does it create replayability. It just forces you to grind for obscene amounts of time with no real goal to reach.
man the hunter sword super is too fucking fun. the thing is AMAZING for traversing the maps too. just played a game where i literally just randomly double jumped into the air, mashed the shit out of RB, flew across half the map, and then landed on 5 guys and fucked up every one of them.
Although I am rly disappointed with the story mode and content, the PvP is still decent and fun to play.
Like many ppl I just started a few days ago playing Destiny and made a short vid with a few tips.
Destiny plays different compared to other FPSs I have played.
If anyone lvl 20+ wanna grind gear & weapons feel free to add me. LiangHuBBB
After 20 you’re grinding for Light and Rep for Legendary/Exotic items, which you can then show off and use in PvE/PvP, where you earn more exp to upgrade these Legendary/Exotic items, to continue grinding for more Light and Rep. This is Destiny’s cycle as far progression goes. It’s not for anybody.
In time I foresee these DLC/Updates:
New Story Missions, PvP maps, Weapons/Armor, Vehicles, etc are a given. The first two expansions are pretty this.
Strikes can be added without making new content. They can use the environments already there as they’re essentially three or four set-pieces and a boss. Hell, there may be player created ones down the line, using a publishing system similar to GTAOnline.
Raids MIGHT be different in that they’ll have exclusive environments. So that could be a DLC thing.
Every class is missing a third sub-class element. I imagine they will be added with some story/event.
Consider that the subclasses explore different sides of the base class. Hunters go from elusive to aggressive, Titans from damage dealers to supporters, and Warlocks from obtuse space control to meticulous status buffers. The third subclass would have to explore yet another form for this base classes. I theorize (and hope) that aside from playing against type (like the second subclass), they push conceptual extremes; like, why wouldn’t the Titan have an ascendent mode like Warlock’s Radiance? Or Warlock’s being able to produce a burning ‘indigo rifle’ like the golden gun?
What I do not see happening is a fourth base class.
I do imagine an entirely new enemy type.
New regions for planets are likely. There were concepts for Old Chicago. And this would be easier than adding entire new planets, which may be a sequel thing.
The only part of the story ive liked so far is when the robot girl called my ghost little light and he got mad and gave her angry face, then my character called him little light.
Dont care for the rest of the game so far. I wana do the glass place raid asap sounds fun.
Shit dude Vault of Glass is happening tomorrow? Without matchmaking? It was hard enough to organize the weekly heroic. Me at 24 and two friends at 23. Getting together 6 people at Level26? Man that aint happening for a hot minute. Not with the completely fucked drop probabilities for crucible/engrams and how long it takes to get the rep you need for dat crucible/vanguard gear.
I dig the lore so far but yeah the story can stand for more levity like the ‘little light’ line. Ghost’s lines do offer some quips, but nowhere near as spunky as Cortana as far as ‘FPS voice-in-your-radio/head’ sidekicks go. Your FPS avatar tends to be silent or at least a person of little words, so sidekicks are the ones who commentate and sell the situation. Ghost has all the traits of Bungie’s traditional AI characters; he has personality, preference, and fears. At the end of the day, though, he’s an AI - programmed to be attached to you. But I don’t wanna slide in story theories. People are thinking interesting things, though.
Had I lived in the Destiny universe and met the Awoken Queen I would be quickly executed for hitting on her. Then again I get some ‘down south’ vibes from her interaction with her brother.
