Preordered. Can’t wait for the beta!
I may preorder just to get in the beta and see what it’s hitting for. Can always cancel.
Same here, i only preordered it for the beta.
Tomorrow bruvs, we are legends once again!!!
Been counting down the days. I’ma try all six subclasses out!
Beta is live!
… and I’m stuck at work
Been watching the Beta on twitch, looks like a Destiny expansion pack.
Control sucks now. Like shit is really boring.
Also ammo drops in pvp can only be picked up by the person popping the ammo…
ugh… well the strike boss fight was cool.
Still trying to get used to the new weapons loadout… I do really like the armor stats better now… it feels less homogeneous.
Just from watching Control looks like a mess.
Its horrible. Pvp will be less entertaining with less emphasis on fast gaining supers and how slow nades refresh and how weak they are. It’s a shame really
Sounds like it could be more competitive with an emphasis on gunplay rather than magic.
To be fair, most of that would be “fixed” with better equipment.

Yea… prolly right but that’s what mad the D1 pvp great. It’s actually less about gunplay and more about team shoot. Move as a group and team shoot till they melt. Not very compelling or interesting. You just have to try it yourself.
Also going down to 4v4 is pretty bad as well.
Aight another complaint. I talked about less homogeneous builds but I take that back. Adding defense and mobility to armor is great, but why not keep in nade cool down and super cool down? I get it for pvp with what they are trying to do but this affects pve in a negative way.
I enjoyed hunting down the perfect helmet for control vs the one I used for nightfalls vs raid gear. Gah I really don’t understand some of these changes.
Really not trying to be to critical without seeing the bigger picture… but with what is available to us it seems like a mess.
I don’t like the change to 4v4 quite a bit, it really decentivises playing with friends which is a trend FPS have been taking as of late that I do not like.

It can work if the levels and characters make it compelling enough. In Siege it’s only 5v5 but with the interaction you have with the level plus different character abilities and how different weapons are it totally works. Destiny needed a bigger pvp field not a smaller one. Control is literally decided how many rush to Bravo at the start and regrouping and circling the map.
The beta does nothing for me. Couldn’t care less about PVP in Destiny. If I want PVP I’ll play Paragon or maybe Overwatch.
The opening mission and strike aren’t anything special - same old Destiny, just like I figured it’d be. In general, what I’ve played doesn’t feel like Destiny 2 at all - more like Destiny 1.2. Still on the fence. The thing that’ll sell me on the game is proof of improved storytelling within the game and a steady flow of immersive content
So far I’m pretty impressed with the beta. The strike is longer than Crota’s End and has a great boss fight that’s more than just a bullet sponge. I’ve only played Titan so far, but the subtle movement changes are nice. I feel like they tightened up the jumping controls, and when you hit the edge of a ledge it feels like you kinda grab onto it to help pull yourself up.
There is now a trade-off between having unlimited sprint with Shoulder Charge activated, but it’s only active when you have a full melee charge. This is kinda a nerf in PvE, but it’s a pretty cool way of dealing with the whiners in PvP. It gives the Striker unlimited run with active when you have it, but it prevents you from spamming it. There is also an AoE now. I got a double down with one shoulder charge, and it was awesome. I think they nerfed the damage somehow because it’s not always a guaranteed OHK. I’ll have to test it out more and see if it’s just against max resilience armor or if there is a certain way you need to execute it to get the guaranteed kill.
PvP in general feels great to me. I had absolutely no lag in any of my matches last night, and managed to get top of the board a lot. Countdown is pretty fun, but nothing groundbreaking. The TTK seems to be increased, and with the decrease to 4v4, there is most definitely an emphasis on gunplay rather than abilities. This is still bare bones beta, so who knows how certain legendary and exotic gear will effect it later, granting faster charging abilities and whatall, but I’m digging the change.
When it was first announced that there will only be 4v4 I was upset because I have way more than 3 friends who play Destiny with me, and some of the best fun I’ve had in the game is dedicating a Sunday afternoon to Iron Banner with a group of friends online. However, I really like the new pacing of 4v4. It lends itself to much better competition without so much chaos and better connections. I will admit that I am much more of a PvE player, but I had a blast in the Crucible last night. I like that shotguns are considered heavy now, and that ammo is so scarce. Not once did I get killed by a sliding shotgun. It was all good engagements with a variety of weapons (though Sweet Business might be a little OP once it gets revved up). We’ll see how long that lasts.
A buddy of mine was in our chat party and he was doing the strike while I was playing PvP. He said he was able to explore a little and got into areas that aren’t part of the strike. Fought some servitors and shit. I kinda want to check it out tonight. I also want to try out the other classes. Titan is awesome, and I like Striker better than Sentinel, especially since I can put up a defensive barrier with either subclass. But I’m looking forward to checking out the other classes.
I’m pretty hyped for D2. After playing the Homecoming mission, I finally felt like there’s a true antagonist that I want to go kill the fuck out of. You never really see any of the other raid bosses except for Oryx. But even Oryx doesn’t feel that personal. I mean, he killed the hot queen and that sucked, but Gaul fucking pissed me off and I want to go get him. Can’t wait till September.
PVP is actually fun in this. It’s actually gunplay and shit instead of ability spam. PVE is a fucking chore though. Your Grenade takes 5ever to regenerate
