I would love if bungie started to not make kneejerk balance just because some stupid scrubs complain about x or y weapon.
Every time they do that they make the balance worst.
Take for example the pulse rifles on the current meta, outside bad juju, they all fucking suck.
I’m not trying to be that guy, but saying nobody used it in Y1 is a bit misleading. The gun was widely considered, among many skill levels, to be the best gun outside of the holy trinity. It would have seen similar levels of play in Y1 as it had in Y2 if the trinity wasn’t so omnipresent. The only primary that came close to MIDA in Y1 outside of the trinity was Red Death. MIDA was always really ridiculous and was going to eventually be a target because of its unique stats. MIDA is probably still the best scout rifle pound-for-pound and definitely a high tier primary.
People are going to complain about Universal Remote because players still suck against shotguns. While I don’t see the remote getting a nerf anytime soon, I feel like it will fade naturally as Y3 comes around the corner and people will be too busy experimenting and going back to Thorn for Universal Remote to see much play. The people who are dying to Universal Remote would still be dying to sliding Party Crashers and max range Matadors anyway.
Maybe it’s just the group I played with, but nobody used MIDA. And I got killed by FAR more Thorns and Last Words than anything else. People may have recognized it as a great gun, but it got used way less than others, with people criticising its low impact. I’ve always considering it to be the best scout rifle, with VoC a close second. And being partial to scout rifles, I used those guns almost exclusively (and FB, and for a while Fang of Yogurt), with MIDA being the only primary I ever brought into the crucible. Now whenever I play, MIDA is all over the place.
Whatever, I didn’t mean to mislead, but the bigger point I was trying to make was that once my favorite weapon got popular and everyone started using it so much, Bungie fucking nerfed it. I was always loyal to that weapon, and when the mob moved to it, I knew it was only a matter of time because that’s what Bungie does.
Bungie has done a lot of things wrong and it’s due to them listening to the masses. I hope they revert the way you get exotics. Remove 3oC, make exotics very rare again and something to grind for, but give a 5% (or less) chance for a boss to drop an exotic engram. Remove the buff completely from iron banner and go back to the way it worked in y1 before TDB. Make winning during iron banner mean something. The only good thing they’ve done is increase legendary drop rates.
Are those things so wrong, though? Bungie has shown a concrete desire, but inherent inability (probably due to internal tools) to pump out content at a satisfying enough rate for public consumption. part of the reason Y1 started feeling like such a drag, even going into new content with HoW, was because of how often people felt the need to play the game in order to get what they wanted. Changes to rewards systems seem designed to let people play at their own pace and just relax a little bit to so they can enjoy the game without feeling like they have to do x, y and z with the burnout that always accompanies that.
What I will agree with you on is that Iron Banner, while very bountiful in drops, maybe rewards a bit too much in terms of rank for losses. Of course, I say that but I always go in the Banner with a full or near-full fireteam. I’m sure that system was meant to save solo players from the hordes of blueberries whose sole purpose in life is to get sniped in the Crucible. Apparently Rise of Iron will reshape Iron Banner without a rank system, so I’m interested to see what those changes are.
That definitely sounds like maybe a local environment issue, where the people you were playing with and against were not branching out enough. Thorn, Hawkmoon, The Last Word ran the show for sure, but MIDA was always the utility weapon that those three couldn’t b–okay, that those two couldn’t be (curse you, max range Thorn!). In fact, I think that utility is part of what made it such an appealing target. Not only did it give incredible buffs and synergize well with multiple loadouts, it was also the everyman’s head-on answer to sniper rifles–a weapon that was getting some really good entries in its category in Y2. The gun did a bit too much, but even after the HCR nerf, you’ll still find plenty of MIDA in the Crucible. It’s still that good.
How you feel is how a buddy of mine felt after Hopscotch Pilgrim specifically got blasted going into Y2. He just wanted to be great, but he was riding the wave a bit too high. Crazy how Hopscotch got hit but The Messenger stayed the same and was arguably better. People used to complain about early Y2 pulse game, but the tail end of Y1 was terrifying. -shudder-
I’ve been using the hell out of Telesto in Crucible lately, more so than any secondary. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not great in Crucible, but at least I’m guaranteed a trade if I get killed with that weapon in my hands. And I’ve been going positive more and more often with it. Plus it’s so rewarding getting multiple kills with it.
I don’t know if you play in a fireteam, but have you tried the Telesto buff that lets the projectiles stick to friendly targets? I haven’t used it in a while, but I still need to get a kill from someone on my team brave enough to run into an enemy bubble.
LMAO.
Now sir you are without a doubt the undoubtful winner of the most idiotic post that i had the disgrace to read on this thread.
The loot system is nowhere as rewarding and you want them to make it as bad as it was in the beginning?
Are you retarded nigga?
Who has completed Moment of Triumph Year 2? I’m almost done with the crucible quest line, then all I need is the exotic sword and two more calcified fragments.
I still need to kill Oryx on Hard the challenge way.
I am about to finish the crucible quest line, i only need 4 disqualification rounds, or win one and play another.
Happy to help! and i got my last exotic sword! B) nightfall this week is terrible… and so are the rewards… as usual. Just doing iron banner for the hand cannon. It has better perks than the 2 ive got. When i get it those other 2 are getting deleted. Ive started preparing for this new dlc… collecting materials, armor and storing quest rewards for the exp.
