Lol forreal. Its a hilarious read tbh making the work day go by faster. Still cant believe they sold it though, itâs about time. I think what a lotta people dont realize though is that after you get itâŚthere really isnt much else lol
After you get it content becomes trivial. I was telling a fireteam I was with a couple weeks ago that once I got Gally, nothing really bothers me. My exact quote:
Iâm hoping Bungie doesnât add another super uber weapon in TTK. I actually enjoy using Truth, Dragonâs Breath (which is a very strategic and fun weapon IMO), etc.
its funny you can tell all the people who have just got the ghorn⌠there has been a surge in its usage in pvp⌠we were playing against a team and when it came to heavy it was nothing but ghorns from them lol⌠we still killed the shit out of them but it was funny.
Gally isnât a good choice for PVP. From my experience, a rocket launcher is a rocket launcher in the Crucible. Any Legendary with tracking will do. Iâm not putting down Thorn for Gally.
I wouldnât say it isnât a good choice for PvP. Itâs a fine choice, but there are others that are just as good or better and can be used more often that take up the exotic slot. Gjallarhorn in PvP is a fine choice for those going without an exotic primary.
As a PvP launcher, itâs a pretty good dealâtracking, horseshoes and tracking cluster bombs. A great launcher, to be sure.
You know Gjallarhorn clusters are capable of KOing a max armor/max health guardian that has managed to avoid a shell and its blast radius, yes? You can net a kill from the shell and if anyone was even in the general vicinity of the victim, clusters are in their ass. If you fire a shell into B at Shores of Time and someone manages to escape the shell and the blast, they are extremely likely to get picked up by clustersâthatâs the approximate tracking radius.
They circumvent non-perfect Blink distance/timing and natural stage cover. You pretty much need some sort of overshield or a sprint perk to survive them. You can barely run and you damn sure canât hide. If you donât value the launcher and its perks, thatâs fine, but to say itâs a bad choice if you look at all launchers objectively is pretty out there. Itâs very good and is surpassed by only the best launchers.
To be clear, my point wasnât about whether Gjallarhorn as an exotic should directly compete with other exotics for the exotic slot. I was saying that, should you want to take it into PvP match as your rocket launcher of choice, it would be a good choice to make. Gjallarhorn is a good choice for PvP.
I would take truth for a larger map like widowâs court and gjallarhorn for anything else. It shouldnât be your priority as an exotic choice but if you arenât using an exotic primary or secondary then why not use one of the exotic rockets.
My trials/semi-serious pvp setup is usually the messenger with matador 64 or efrideetâs spear, plus an exotic rocket depending on the map. If you are trying to play rocket sniper with proximity detonation then truth is ideal, but if you are playing the rocket guessing game around corners then gjallarhorn can give you the edge.
Ghorn is strong in trials since people will exotic switch during heavy round, or they use a messenger. Tracking rockets are not all that in pvp. You want high velocity and blast radius paired with proximity detonation. Which both the Truth and Ghorn have. Ghorn does have proximity detonation, but itâs not listed. Radaghast Fury, Ash Factory and the Fear are the best purple Launchers, with the right rolls.
Speaking of Trials, I pulled my 3rd Scholar out of the Mercury Chest. 4th trip to the light house, 3 of the same loot :#
The Cryptarch or Raid shitting on you sucks, but going 9-0 multiple times and getting the same reward is on a whole different level of bullshit. Prior drops need to affect future drop rates.
