You should know that, regardless of what Thai says but, I still don’t think Thai is a bad guy for the simple fact that this shit has nothing to do with me, nor do I want it to. I think both you Lukus and Thai should just lay off about all of this.
A few objective points:
Lukus, being eager is one thing, but don’t appear so egotistical, even if you aren’t doing so intentionally. It seems that people are pissed because you because of your unwillingness to let TXS go and to admit defeat. Sure you gotta grow and learn from it, but don’t develop a complex and vow for revenge via moneymatch or whatever. So you didn’t perform to the best of your ability because of lack of sleep, well neither did anyone else. Also, don’t keep adding fuel to the fire by responding to everyones hate-posts. That’s what they want you to do, they are having fun with it. If you want to prove yourself the best, ignore all this shit for the next year then next TXS or EVO, show the fuckers whos boss. It’s definitely a much more respectable approach.
Thai, Kyle and I will continue to hang around Lukus simply because we understand that Lukus is Lukus, be it something others can stand or not. Frankly, if it weren’t for him I wouldn’t be gaming yet, nor have competition. Sure you and others hate him, but you have to understand that your reservations aren’t that of some others. I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t try to convince me otherwise. Also, I’d touch on the hate posts, but it’s obvious that you’re fucking around for the sake of entertainment here.

I was reading what the gc.net thread had said, and if Thai said that KOFXI is at A-Town in Dallas, you have no excuse Dark Geese. And I think it was a pathetic showing of just you watching KOFXI at TS6. You had an opportunity to try it out. Why wait until a new game comes out on console just to be able to play it, just so you can use your pad? You think I do that with Tekken 5 DR, hell no :annoy:. You know what else, I play GGXX:Slash and Fist of the North Star at the arcades even though I’m not good at those games. WEAK. We had SO many Dallas CvS2 tournaments where I was basically a lock to win, but people didn’t duck out and play casual, they played the tournament and took what they could from that experience. The result? By the time I moved away, I was no longer even close to a lock to win. If Denton seriously wants to get better, you guys need to lose this horrible attitude.
Maybe the gayest line ever Whatever, no one even needs to stand up to Dallas. really the best thing they can do is to just play the dallas players and as many other good players they can. (or they could just play random SNK games vs random characters - “DON’T play for real – LEADERSHIP.COM”)
Again, I really doubt that I will be in town any time soon. There is a slim chance I will be around sometime in May, but barring that, the earliest would be summer (and if evo is in vegas again i will just go to that instead) or fall. or later. travelling sucks.
Why do you need a money match to play seriously? I can understand this for the various “big names” in games like marvel and ST, where they presumably get dozens of hopeless challengers regularly, but in this situation, what does it really accomplish? I mean no offense by this, but obviously the money matches wouldn’t be paying for your time - judging from all of your posts on here you seem to have time to spare. I don’t think that you feel you are a top player, so frequent money matches for you also have to be an overall losing proposition (negative EV lol)… what’s the point?
the idea behind playing random characters in casuals it that it increases exposure – **he’s already stated that if he starts to under-perform, he picks characters he’s more familiar with. ** i don’t see any negatives to his methods when it comes to casuals.
i don’t really think the tourny didn’t happen because we knew the outcome. i think there was only like 5 or 6 people presently there, max (we were expecting more). we just continued playing casuals – with so few people, there wasn’t much of a reason to glorify it by calling it a tourny. it wasn’t a big deal. i don’t necessarily agree with his posted conclusion, but i’m not going to make a big deal about it.

Hey this is Ray a friend of Coly’s. I think him and I are going to try to head out there this friday for some games if that is cool with you. He only plays 3S and I play 3S and some CvS2 so is there alot of casuals for those games out there? Cause we really don’t care for SNK games and it is kind of a drive for us so I don’t want to head out there and end up watching some weird games for a few hours.

i havn’t been involved with the denton scene long, but i assumed denton did participate at SNF etc. i wouldn’t think anyone believes the denton tournaments are flat out better than the others. i can’t necessarily speak for everyone, but i think the denton tournaments are held for fun and the opportunity for growth (i know there are some who come from outside denton). i don’t see how the denton tournaments hurt anything. again, an effort to get more activity going.
i have nothing against other areas and definitely see myself at SNF sometime. it’s not like anyone in denton tries to keep people from playing outside of denton – people even offer rides etc.
