Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax- My Little Sister Can't Be This Top Tier (PS3/PSV Fall 2014)

LOL I ended up switching to Taiga. She plays a lot more like a normal FG character. I believe Shana is stronger in the game, but Taiga might be the best for players who don’t focus on DFC. My online winrate went from 15% with Shana to around 80% with Taiga.

Is Fighting Climax ignition still worth getting? I already have Koihime Enbu and the Shining fighting game. What does Ignition bring that the others don’t? I haven’t played the US PS3 release of the prequel. Is this a huge jump?

Well, for one, DFCI is the game with an actual player base that will show up on evenings.

The problem is the scenario where you shell out the 90 bucks for the game and the two DLCs, only to hear about a localization, or even a Steam release. Anything could happen.

Ignition might as well be a different game to the original.

  1. Your first question is too broad in context to give an accurate or even correct answer. Only you your self can make that decision.

2/ As for what DFCI offers compare to others?well it offers alot but nothing ground breaking either. It has lot reminiscence mechanics to french bread fighters such as ex, final super and reverse beat, and few other anime fighters mechanics like loosely chain system, jump cancel, numerous cancel, and a burst. Its just French bread attempt at another anime fighter that focus more on assist synergy and micro managing multitude of mechanics, high level play emphasizing strong resource management. DFCI isn’t a High risk and high reward game, its more momentum control, comeback are very possible in DFCI due to large amount of comeback mechanics presence but strong players know how to deal or work around them. Majority of the comeback mechanics buffs or utility that offensive player can use too but activated on different circumstance.

  1. vanillia DFCi has major balance issue in the vein of assists in how some completely over shadow others. defensive blast was bit too strong and ect. The new version heavily modify mechanics but kept some base mechanics and controls the same. This did cause the meta to change with the inclusion of ignition system and blast system revamp.

Ok so it’s a different game that completely overshadows the original. That’s good. But what’s the two dlcs? Am I looking at 30 dollars for two dlcs? What do these dlcs offer? And I think it’s been almost a year since it was released, so the localization is looking less and less possible as time goes on. But these two DLCs. Is it on the Japanese psn store? Or is it some new arcade version that makes ignition not the newest anymore?

The DLC is just characters and assists added to the roster for Ignition. Actually, they have had to update the arcade counterpart to be on par with Ignition. It’s also possible to get the game for cheaper on the HK PSN Store. No English, though.

How many characters are dlc? If it’s just assists, I couldn’t give a shit about those. But if it’s actual characters, then hell. Is it the bullshit like Blazblue where the characters cost like seven or nine bucks each? I remember that crap with Valkenhein and that just turned the hell off of me.

In that case, I think you should either hold off until a hypothetical next version (à la BlazBlue), or sit tight for an announcement regarding localization (hopefully).

Only two characters were DLC. One of them is Yuuki from Sword Art Online, however, she was free for like a month. And the second is Ako from Netoge no Yome wa Onna no Ko Janai to Omotta? who was paid DLC from the beginning. Both are fun characters, Yuuki being one of the most fun and strongest characters in the game. I don’t see this game getting localized. I would love it to since I’ve bought this game and it’s versions almost 4 times by now but I don’t see it happening.

I will give you my opinion, which is that DFCI is worth getting if you want something to play “on the side”. It’s not like Blazblue where you can’t really get your money’s worth unless you spend weeks grinding out BnB combos in training mode. DFCI has relatively lenient execution so you can be playing the game in a couple of hours and get better as you play.

Here’s a question. Can DFCI be played as a form of fighter where everyone can play it, have fun without knowing too much of it and then continue to something else?

Also how much are the two dlc characters? Like cost wise, how much yen am I looking at? I heard the 30 dollars but also included assists. How much for just the base two characters?

Is sega still updating this game or is it for all intents and purposes done now? How often do they update it?

In general, yes. It has auto-combo for complete newbies (i.e. pressing A rapidly will result in each character doing a very basic combo that ends in an EX move if that player has meter). A lot of special moves are done with basic A+B or direction+A+B motions which are easy even for people who cannot do hadouken motions.

For intermediate players it has basic A, B, C, A+B, Super combos that they can do with almost no execution required.

Of course, expert players will always have a huge advantage but from personal experience even people who button-mash at other fighting games do not have to mash buttons here if they don’t want to.

There are two Y800 packages that each come with one character and one assist.

The 2 DLC characters are 800 yen each and they come with their respective assists.

Even after the DLC was released, the game was getting smaller updates, changes to some move properties and so on. I don’t think the game has been updated in a while.

Yes, this game is very easy to pick up and play.

That’s not too bad. Though when were the last changes made? Has there been any arcade rumblings? If this is the last stable version for a while, I may just buy it. I’m kind of interested in it.

Should I expect more Uniel or more Blazblue? Or more of a Persona Arena? I recall someone posting saying that it’s not like BB learning combos, but it has to be closer to something.

Thanks to the posts here, I’ve watched some videos and read more on the systems. It doesn’t sound too bad. I purchased the game. Hopefully I"ll have fun with it along with some friends.
