The game is heavy on Japanese text. Anything beyond the main menus - including pause screen, training mode and every switch in online mode - is in Japanese.
Yes. Although I heard it’s more work on the PS4 to get this working. You’d have to look into it.
Evidently, there’s much less people playing outside of peak times (JST). Or you could check who’s streaming on a particular evening for NA matches.
The game has cross-play support and players access the same online lobbies. And despite how much you may be told otherwise, there’s no difference between PS3/PS4.
The Asia version is the exact same game and people have been able to obtain the DLC as well. Last I heard, the HK store accepted any international credit card, but I can’t confirm that.
I couldn’t find an English tier list but there are Japanese ones floating around, especially on forums and Twitter. Try searching for these key words:
電撃文庫 Fighting Climax Ignition -> name of the game
キャラランク or ランク -> character rank (tier list)
Here’s one I found:
S +: Asuna> Shana
S: Kirino, Rentaro
A: Kuroyukihime, Emilia, Akira, Quenthur, Kirito, Taiga
B: Other
Watched the stream for Ignition on Animevo (https://www.twitch.tv/numakie/profile/past_broadcasts). This has rekindled my passion for this title. Where can I get more detailed info on it? Before watching the stream I had no idea you could stop Lucian assist by attacking him. Actually I have no idea what a lot of the assists in the game do at all.
This isn’t entirely true. Besides the obvious counter assists that will be triggered on hit, some character assists are invulnerable and can only be deactivated by hitting the point character i.e Rusian, Boogiepop, etc.
The stream commentator said that Lucian actually has some armor (hit him with 3x A or 2xB/C to cancel him). I tried hitting him before and it didn’t work. Thought he was invulnerable for a long time.
Hmmm… some other things off the top of my head:
How do otgs work?
What are the exact requirements for Enju’s follow-up?
Chicken guarding doesn’t seem to work in this game? It feels like it should but it rarely works out for me.
Is the info on Mizuumi updated? Sometimes I’m not sure if all the info there applies to Ignition or just vanilla.
Where can I find the answers to the above on my own?
Some match-up specific things:
How do you beat jump C spam from Shizuo players? I meet a lot of online players who do this and honestly I have a lot of trouble with it. There are also Tomoka players who also spam jump C and I have similar problems, though not as severe.
1.OTG: primary safe way to tack on extra damage with out fear of burst. it lengthens down time which made be needed for certain Oki set ups, safe blast activation. Normal with jump cancel feature is disable unless in power up mode from trump.
2.Enju: I haven’t learned this either.
certain attack are Air Unblockable. this is indicated by purple hit stun effect.
It’ snot updated as far as I know.
Both character character thrive on using these moves. As far as universal option goes you have blast, air guarding then push block, majority of character have lv2 super that either clashed or Invul at start up (63214B+C). IF don;t want to challenge them then you need to simply re position your self and stay air born as those option don’t do much. From their you have to micro manage your character arsenal or Assists choice. Most character characters A+B have clash frames with 2A+B usually being their go to AA option. Its pretty common for people to tack on defensive or counter assisst when dealing with opponent who have an oppressive rush game.
6: Like most defensive assists you need to be mindful how you approach. You need to either zone with projectiles or use pokes that keep you safe. The only committed action you should do is throws as it has minimal risk, Besides that be be extra reserve and cautious with other action. If dealing screen control version you need to either target the assists or land hit/throw on opponent to get rid of it. Out side of that its best to take preventive measure usually by jumping. Be weary of using your double jump because the pop up it does to you chicken guard will leave you vulnerable to AUB. If you didn’t use your double jump then you can attempt to re position on the way down.
well Shana has strong screen control and combos so that match up should be in favor for the majority of the time. Also her 5b is good AUB so most opponent would be weary of jumping around her. Some character have the tool and some don’t. I already explain what are universal options are available so it sup to you to make that work. Shana has one of the better Ranbu super with invincible since her a three parts (or rekka) so she can make her safe compare to other with huge gamble. Her’s also cover bit air space so it can also work as AA too.
Yeah, I understand. I’ve been using 5b this whole time to AA actually and it usually works well. It’s just Shizuo and Tomoka I have trouble with. I played a bit last night and learning that 5b is AUB did help a lot. A lot of online Shizuos like to charge jump C, then dash in and do 5b. I was getting tagged by this all the time because I didn’t know I couldn’t block it.
Still not doing great in terms of win/loss, but I think that’s to be expected because my opponents usually have around 3000 games clocked in and I’ve got like 50.
EDIT:
Who is the cheesiest, most no-effort and fraudulent character in the game? This is just for my curiosity. It’s not because I’m salty over getting double-perfected by a Tatsuya.
