Also does everyone use fog ring with lightning weapons? seems like that’s all I fight.
You get a 50% bonus to your STR, so if the weapon gains 3 damage for every point of STR you have, then that damage bonus suddenly goes up 50%. Also I believe the base physical damage goes up as well, but not other types of damage such as magic or elemental.
Also, the attack animations tend to be overall better if you are two handing. More range, faster swings, etc. It’s not a guarantee, but it is a trend.

90 / 70 / 40 for magic, you really just want it for the special attack.
Four Kings battle was more free than anything so far. Iron Flesh + Chug that crystal ring shield at the bosses = ~900 damage a hit (crystal ring shield special attack does 2x your main weapon damage) = each king was dead in ~3-4 hits. Though just using my dragon greatsword to do the same thing would have probably just taken longer and I can’t abuse the R2 attack on the greatsword even though it was doing almost 800 damage a hit.

Glitch in this one is pretty sick. I went through the game with a build that only raised dex/str/end and never used a single spell for the entire damn game, nor did I use the forest grinding spot, nor did I get the drake sword while it was still useful, nor did I have above 0 poise for the entire damn thing (except for one boss that would be virtually impossible to fight with my build). Not saying that the game owes me, but I did basically the hardest possible run without being a retard or doing no-equip nonsense. Don’t judge me!
Did you buy the weapon repair kit from the blacksmith?
Oh yeah, and as a future not for everyone, not saying that there is any lava in the game, but if there is, and you spend a lot of time in/on it, make sure to unequip your armor unless you want them to take heavy repair damage.

In the event that there was lava in the game, there might or might not be a ring that reduces lava damage. Which is good because I heard lava is hot…
