I tried that, wasn’t working. Weird, doesn’t appear to be any big stat requirements for it either.
I’m actually glad I clicked on that, I was feeling kind of dumb having used my firekeeper soul, thinking I could just buff my flasks myself. I’ll NEVER get that flask back. But now I don’t feel so stupid, so thanks for posting that. Only took like a minute before I closed it out, that’s all it took to make me feel really smart.
It doesn’t work on Rare weapons and weapons with Flame or Lightning. That might be your issue.
Firekeeper soul has more than one use other than making flasks +1? =(
Yup, was trying to buff Drake sword lol. I’ll try it on my Scimitar later when I get on. It’d be awfully nice for the game to TELL YOU these things somewhere, though.
LVP: if you use a firekeeper soul from your inventory, it apparently just gives you souls or something. Then it’s gone forever, so no Estus buff for you lol. I made that mistake when I saw what the item did in my inventory, went OH SHIT YEAH GIMME THAT BUFF and then was really confused when it didn’t work.
I keep adding strength thinking I can wield my weapon better.
All the awesome axes I’m finding require like +15 more strength for me to use, and all the cool armor is too much weight on me!!
Fuck, I just want to be a mage, I’m throwing everything into INT but I’m missing out on special armors and stuff. Well, luckily I was able to kill the giant metal bore with 2 fireballs and got his helmet. Now to add like +10 endurance so my roll won’t suck when wearing the helm.
what/who is a firekeeper and where are they found. i just used the fire keeper soul through my inventory thinking it would do something HAHAHAA so i wasted one.

Seriously, who the hell doesn’t know how to use the lock-on by the time they are near gargoyles. I’m 10000000% percent sure it was in the tutorial and in the manual (he apparently has unboxing vid, so he has a manual). It sounds like he’s getting pissed but seriously, this is gonna give a lot of random people bad impressions because he’s playing the game wrong (Don’t let anyone fool you, there’s wrong ways to play a game).
I have and Uchigatana by killing the undead merchant and the iato from Blighttown. I was wondering if these weapons scale only with dex or how scaling actually works with these kinds of weapons. Especially since I heard weapons can be scaled with int after you enchant them or something.
Firekeepers are the chicks that hang around the fireplaces. Like in firelink, the chick behind bars. Talk to them and they let you level up your flask.
Sonic, how the fuck did you get that tail?! Jeesus. I think I’m just going to kill him and forget about it.
I believe the Boar helmet gives a large debuff to Stamina regen. So, it’s not really all that great.
Almost all armor gives a debuff to stamina.
I don’t know what the boar helmet’s particular debuff is, though. Most helms in Demon’s souls gave about a 5% penalty.
Whaaa, stam debuffs?! So… I guess I’m not really missing out that much.
Regardless, I did put a lot of points outside my mage-like abilities, still hope I run into something in the future that will help me out a little more ;o
Stamina regens at a rate of 41 points per second. Most helms impose a penalty of 1 point per second. Most full sets of armor impose 8 or 9 points per second total, though a few can get to be more than that.
Seriously, try it. Put on the heaviest armor you can equip, punch the wall until your stamina is at zero, and measure how quickly it fills back up. Then try it again without any armor on.
Thief armor didn’t have any stamina penalty in Demon’s Souls, so I bet it still has no penalty in Dark Souls. That makes sense for thieves because they’re supposed to be mobile, fast, and opportunistic.
for serious? i didnt even know there is a chick behind some bars in firelink…da hell? actually i havent even noticed any chicks hanging around any bonfires HAHAHAH. this game is crazy like that
im pretty sure the highest level requirement to use a spell is 44 for intelligence, the rest is just for increasing the strength of your magic. maybe that will help you out making decisions on what stats to increase. im also playing a mage and ive increased that stat that increases your magic slots (i forget what it’s called), vitality, faith, stamina, strength (only a few) stats outside of intelligence.
right now i have 5 magic slots, which is pretty pimp, i wonder what it maxes out at.

Alright, so just beat the game, what a fantastic ride. I was hating a bit at first, but it’s defenitly better than Demon souls. My only complaint is that end game is kind of weak. I killed every boss super easy, Poise makes boss fights a complete joke .
Eng Game
[details=Spoiler]Havel armor
Mask of the father
Ring of divine protection and Favor
stamina recovery ring
Makes end game an absolute joke. For every boss after Anor Lando, it was pretty much, run up to boss/wait for him to come to me with shield up, block all attacks easy, go 2 hand, swing for the fences because my massive Poise keeps me standing. low health? meh, chug some flask, my poise will let me do it right in their face as they cry bitter tears. Even the last boss was an absolute joke. I fucking STAGGERED HIM WITH MY ATTACKS. several times, he could barely get in attacks until my stamina was gone, the fucking last boss! Was extremely underwhelming. Then the ending is…nothing…literally… disappointing. O well, time for high level pvp, see how that goes. Will also make a new character, see how far I can get as just level 1.[/details]
.
Even with the bugs, exploits and glitches, Still a great game, 9.5/10.
Damn, 5 slots?!
I need me more slots with all the spells I’m learning, that and to carry more of the same spells I enjoy to use.
Demon’s Souls Final Boss and stuff
Spoiler
In the Demon Souls, the last boss was supposed to be a joke as well, however the boss before that was insane (the prince dude). I somehow hope there would be a crazy boss in Dark Souls that level you down or something insane like that, but from what I’ve been running into, all the bosses in the Dark Souls seem a lot weaker vs Demon Souls. However, in return it seems like the Dark Souls bosses have more health, and the regular enemies running around seem stronger and more annoying.
one we may be forgetting is we now understand the game a lot better since it’s basically the same system, so while you might think the bosses in dark souls are easier, they may not be…it might be the case of carried over experience and knowledge and you are applying it much better and know what to expect. i dont know im just saying though. i dont find the dark souls particularly more or less difficult in any aspect of the game when compared to demon souls.

If you look at the detailed info for a weapon it tells you what bonuses it gets from what stats, if any. The katana’s get like A or B rank bonuses from Dex, and no other stat) depending on which one, so there’s not point in leveling up strength for maining a katana or other curved swords. You’ll still need some Str just to carry some of the swords, but Dex is what you want for more damage, for those weapons anyway.
I’m doing a Dex centered build right now actually. Iaito, Priscilla’s Dagger, Quelaag’s Fury, Bow, etc.
oh my FUCKING GOD Capra Demon is pissing me off.
I CAN’T EVEN GET THROUGH THE FUCKING DOOR
Yeah shit is annoying at first. If you weren’t told already, gameplan is to run up the stairs to in the back of the room to the left, kill the dogs when the follow you up, and then just fight Capra like a tough enemy.
