Yeah I think I need 68K to become friendly with the merchant before Blighttown, lol. I think I might just kill him for this playthrough.
Gonna go get killed in Blighttown here in a few.

Wound up heading down not the same path as I think you just told me, it was down some elevator and into a swamp or something. Died to some ghost thing, got back down there again, and my game crashed. Straight up black screen, and back to dashboard crashed. I’ve seen Xbox games freeze (duh) but I’ve NEVER seen one crash back to dashboard like that.
Game is just too fucking hard I guess!
Yeah, not that path either.
Playing on the PS3, the game chocks up sometimes.
Fuckin’ just randomly fighting mobs, and all of a sudden the game stops for like straight up 5 seconds. I’m always afraid that the game would randomly crash
I had a knight back stab insta-kill me while i was running away, then another one does a parry and insta-kills me >_>
That hasn’t happened to me yet. Do you have an old PS3? It stutters from time-to-time (especially in Blighttown), but nothing like a screen freeze.
Enemies have a parry stance. Figure out what it looks like and don’t attack them while they are in it.
Yea, it’s the fat 80GB.
Got that shit like 4 years ago, and I trip out when playing because sometimes the fan on my PS3 will start to get fuckin’ loud, like if it needs it’s cooling power, lol.
It’s never done that before, or I don’t think it has.
Maybe my PS3 is dying, but it sucks when it does have long pauses in random moments
EDIT: Actually, do you play online often?
I’m always online when I play Dark Souls, and researching this issue, people have said they’ve ran into the same problem however only when logged into PSN.
Spooty, help me more! What do I do
place
when I get to alto lando? I killed the gargoyle and found the bonfire, but I don’t see anywhere to go. That screw platform just goes down to the ground, and the big yellow barrier is telling me I need the king’s permission. I gave up looking around there and just went back to fight the gaping dragon
BT fucks me up too.
There is a platform that you can drop onto. It should be to the left of the stairs that lead into the room with the screw elevator.
I’m always signed online while playing.
Oh what?
Then I dunno, my poor ps3!! ;_;
Also, someone is supposed to help me during the gargoyles fight, right? When does that happen?
Just grinded out killing the Gaping Dragon 4 times helping some other people and finally got enough souls to absolve my sins and buy from the merchant. Fucking sucks I had to waste it on that, but that shop had alot of stuff I wanted actually
Spooty just talked about it. You free the dude in the prison cell, then go back to the Firelink and find him, talk to him, and I guess his sign will be there before the boss room.
If you have talked to Knight Solaire and received the White Soapstone, then you should be able to summon him before the Gargoyles. If you release Knight Lautrec from his cage and talk to him at the Firelink Shrine, then you should be able to summon him before the Gargoyles. Obviously, you have to be in Human form to summon. Also, make sure to talk to both these NPCs until they start repeating themselves. Otherwise they might not be available for summon. I believe that Solaire’s summon sign is right before the boss, while Lautrec hides his summon sign a little (There are two ladders that lead to the boss fog. After you climb one latter, turn around and you should see the sign).
I see, so he will be at the mist before I fight the boss, is that the case? Or do I have a specific item to summon him (and yeah, I talked to both NPCs).
However, I haven’t talked to Lautrec at the Firelink Shrine, where can I find him?
As long as you have the White Soapstone, then you should be able to summon them.
Go to Firelink Shrine’s bonfire. See the guy sitting near the bonfire (the one who has been there the whole game)? Well, to his left are some steps leading down. Lautrec is sitting down there.
Okay, I finished up Blighttown. Where do I go next? I went to New Londo and got a bunch of items, but there was nothing past it. I checked out Sen’s Fortress and it seems pretty difficult, is that the next area I should be aiming for?
Yup.
Alright, cool. I messed around a bit in Sen’s Fortress and it’s easier than I thought, gonna try to clear it tomorrow. The traps can be annoying sometimes, though.
So I started farming souls a bit. 2,000 souls every 30-60 seconds. You need to buy the key from the Blacksmith for 20,000 souls that opens the door in the forest, then you just keep killing the first mob beyond the door, running back to the fireplace near the door your just unlocked(it’s hidden behind a wall right next to the door), rest, kill mob again, rinse, repeat. I might actually become friendly with that merchant before Blighttown if I decide to farm the souls for it.
I had a tense moment in the Undead Parish. I was out of flasks and low on health, so I decided to run for it. I didn’t know where I was going, and I had those knights with the cloaks chasing me, and some big-ass black knight with a huge shield. Somehow I found a bonfire and survived. Man, I wish I had recorded that.
I got burned by the dragon. You think I would have learned my lesson from Demon’s Souls.
My first playthrough I went with the Thief class because I was impatient to get good gear. I spoiled the game a bit for myself by…
Thief Class & Amulet Gift FTW
Getting effectively two gifts at character generation (Master Key (via Thief Class) and Pendant (the only item you cannot pick up in-game; via Gift Selection)) and rushing through the unlockable doors to get to other sections of the game world. I dashed/rolled to evade enemies and went for all the pick-ups I could find. I netted a bunch of souls, some armor sets, longbow, crossbow, some great weapons, shields, rings, etc. Then I would try to make it back to the first bonfire and play through the game “properly” and follow the storyline. I didn’t need to buy anything and only needed to level up enough to use some of the weapons I had found, played most of the game around level 6-7. The arrows served me nicely for the Drake Sword, etc.I disappointed myself by spoiling the game through seeing what was going to be lying in wait for me at later levels but that was the price I paid for getting good stuff early.
…my class choice but I figure it’s one of many ways to play this game and I’ll be playing it over and over with the…

Online covenant faction PvP.
…online action so if anyone is still on the fence about buying this game, I wholeheartedly recommend it.
