Mephistopheles is there if you have black tendency and killed Yurt in 3-2, and Satsuki i’m not sure check this out maybe this will help. Sometimes he’s in 4-1 for me and sometimes he’s not I think it depends on your tendency I usually see him when I’m pure white or pure black in neutral he might be standing elsewhere not sure

EDIT: Oh yeah should I upgrade the Spike Shield? I have a Purple Flame Shield but it’s weight value is 8 whereas the Spike SHield’s is 3. If I equip the Spike Shield my equip burden would be at 50% of total.
not anymore. im sayign when u first start off u think “dam 5k shit”, but when u start understanding it more u’ll realize how quickly u can farm souls.
but anyway whts a good weapon for a melee/magic balanced type? im using phopherdent(sp) pole +5 but its got weak damage.
what kidn of class are u? u generally shoudl keep your equip burden <50% for quickrolls but if u put points in endurance (depending on which class u use), PFS+10 is very good. personally on my priest God’s Rage doesn’t get affected by the magic reduction of dark silver shield so i go with that
Use either a crescent or a moon weapon.
Those weapons’ damage scales with your magic stat. Or you can get a blessed weapon which scales with your faith stat.
There’s a crescent falchion +1 in 4.1 and there’s a blessed mace +1 in 5.1.

Are clubs useful against the skeletons in World 4? If I upgrade it high enough would it kill them with1-2 hits?
TBH Tizoc, I’ve never tried using a club against them, but they are good.
The only “hammer” type weapon I used was a Meat Cleaver, but it deals cut damage. Also, by the time I was using that, I was already one shotting them.
^I see. I think I’ll brave 4-1 then, maybe after a little buffing, my Spear is raping most enemies in 2-1 with ease.
Any tips to beating the Flamelurker boss? From a video I watched, he’s all over the friggin’ place. I wouldn’t mind using Magic to beat his ass though.

I just finished beating him up with my iron knuckles. Dodge, attack, dodge, attack, repeat. Study his moves as he’s wide open after attack. You got frame advantage.

You don’t necessarily HAVE to farm those large shards.
There is a vendor in 2-2, somewhere along the walkways by the cliff side that sells them IIRC.

Farming souls is 100 times easier and more efficient than farming shards. Once you beat 4-1 you have access to one of the best farming spots in the game at the very beginning of 4-2. A couple minutes there and you’ll be swimming in souls.
Going through world 2 and killing the stray crystal geckos should net you a decent amount of large shards. If not, there’s a gecko nest in 2-2 and you’ll get at least 1 large shard with each gecko you kill. However the catch is that you have very little time to slaughter them all. If you have an AoE spell (Firestorm or God’s Wrath) that does okay damage then that’s the best place to farm. Also you can reload your save after you’ve killed them and they’ll respawn, but you can only do that a maximum of 4 times. (1 + # of world 2 bosses killed)
