I unlocked that trophy already lool.
No you dingus, your theory of nashandra using dusk as a shell.
Everyone knows nashandra is a piece of manus and the way the want weapon descriptions are worded [details=Spoiler]it sounds like manus will be the dlc boss again[/details].
Has From Software commented yet on wether or not there will be DLC for part 2? I’d regularly drop $15-$20 on expansions if they are as good as the Artorias one.
EDIT: I’m in.
Dude being Mad Martigan in DSII is awesome ! been playing the theme while invading satisfying killing mages and tanks with my quick build. They want to lock me up in the crow cages. ;3 PVP is way better than the previous games.
Played again for a couple of hours (mainly to spite you bitches). Again, I do like how the areas connect and all that. It’s clever. Fucked around and managed to kill that dude on the bottom of the stairway tower (the one that connects to the Taurus Demon), had to cheese it. Stumbling around, those thieves are tricky. Encountered the Minotaur by accident and managed to beat his ass.
There’s definitely good qualities to DS and I won’t argue that but I think you guys have to admit that the game isn’t perfect either.
… I really, really don’t want to fight those Skeletons any time soon.
Hell no games not perfect, no game is perfect, I have gripes to be sure, but it’s strengths FAAAAR outweigh my complaints, and the lack of direction in the game isn’t a complaint, in fact it’s a bonus. My second play through one of the first things I did was charge through to the Catacombs boss so I could get the Right of Kindling from beating him. If it was like a Metroidvania I’d have to play through in the same order i did the first time which means I wouldn’t have gotten Kindling until roughly 80% into the game and man…Fuck that. You’d also be locked off from access to the Blacksmith that’s down there till that point to and he’s the only one who can make you fire weapons. The game is about knowledge, you can totally get into the Catacombs and wreck shit down there if you know what to do, and how to get yourself equipped to deal with the skeletons. Gating the game like a Metroidvania game is absolutely 100% something I would not do if I had been the dev for this game. It being as open as it is right from the beginning is one of the best things about this game.
Fuck needing to glitch the game to go where I want to go, this game is a real RPG, you go somewhere you’re not prepared for you’re gonna get your ass tossed. Simple as that. Either try again, or try somewhere else.
Also if you are cheesing bad guys then you are doing it right
Fuckers in this game are cheap as hell and you are encouraged to be cheap as hell back to them. No one is nice in Lordran not even you.
The more you play it, the more you’ll like it. Just keep at it.
That I’ll agree with to, it took me 5 different trys over a 3 year period to get into Demon’s Souls, and it took me about a week of playing to really get into Dark Souls to, but now man I’m hooked.
Did you ever beat Demon’s Souls?
Nope. I stopped where my last report in thread for the game was. I never took down the Fire Lurker. I didn’t really dig how seperated the areas where by the hub, and the world tendancy system was frustrating along with the health penalties but mostly it was just i REALLY got into Dark Souls. I plan to give Demon’s Souls another go eventually i just really got into the Dark series of the games.
Stumbled around and managed to accidentally find those sewers that have those geckos (they look like Gecko’s). All accidentally. I unlocked a door near the Minotaur boss and found some undead and killed a butcher, managed to finally find an ember, and I fell down a hole into the sewers. At this point I was begging for a bonfire but every time I thought I was getting close to one I would fall down a hole and get lost. On the plus side I found a ring that restores HP from fallen enemies. The downside is that I was forced to fight a boss because I was trapped and the boss seemed fairly easy but I had no flasks and only had humanity and when I tried to heal he got me. 15K souls gone.
I still don’t know if I like it. Feels kinda’ like a Japanese Fallout 3 in its scope.
The targeting system is still ass though.
There is a bonfire down there. Its actually decently close to the boss to. Those geckos are called basalisks. Dont hang out in the grey fog they spew it will curse you and that status effect suuuuuuuucks.
I looked, and no bonfire. I found an iron door next to a merchant but it was locked Didn’t get hit once by those Geckos, they were fairly easy. The boss was some (how the fuck do you describe these things other than Lovecraftian?) was some hybrid thing with Wings. Seemed easy enough, but no Flasks to save my ass.
I promise theres a bonfire down there i use it for farming humanities. Anyway yea the gaping dragon is super easy you shouldnt really need any flasks for him, tho of course they help. Just keep your distance and watch what he does until you find a good opening to deal some damage. He’s one of the easiest bosses in the game imo.
And yea Galing Dragon uggo as fuck lool.
He’s not easy if you didn’t kill the Channeler up on the balcony. That guy makes an otherwise simple fight really annoying.
Thats true both times i made sure to kill the channeler cuz seeing what he did to the hollows in the church not to mention the soul arrows i wasn interested in that fucking bullshit while fighting a boss lol. FUCK channelers, i hate those mother fuckers. Even in the Lore those guys are peices of shit.
tbh once you know the fight the channeler becomes irrelevant, ol’ gaping becomes less threatening once you learn [details=Spoiler] that standing to its side it can’t ever hit you[/details]
Going to have to disagree with you on this. PvP in Dark Souls 2 is by far the worst of the series. Physical scaling is hilariously bad, severely gimping any builds that want to focus on physical damage. This ends up turning everyone into a melee mage hybrid with insane damage. Here’s a little video showcasing the problem:
What’s going on in the video is a build with the minimum stat requirements to wield his weapon of choice, which is then infused with dark and then a spiced down resonant weapon for buffing the weapon. Which you can cast with a staff you don’t even meet the stat requirements to use. Now since physical scaling is so ass, an infused weapon will always do as much damage, if not more, than a straight physical damage weapon at +10. Further applying a buff onto an infused weapon skyrockets the weapons damage since buffs add 50 ATR of an element and then increase that elements damage by something like 30%. Thus resonant weapon on an already dark weapon makes the damage silly.
Now this wouldn’t really be SO bad if the current online environment didn’t further exacerbate the problem. Phantom range and smaller parry windows create a game in which people can simply spam R1 with impunity because missing a parry becomes a death sentence and you can’t parry a phantom hit as far as I can tell. You also can’t roll BS anymore to punish overly aggressive players.
I don’t even bother to kill the Channeler for that boss anymore.
Also, Japanese Fallout 3…lolno
