So it seems poison>bleed unless I am doing something wrong. Use the ricards rapier heavy attack and don’t get a bleed effect. If someone does the same thing with the poison variant I instantly get poisoned. I’m about to just revert it back to normal. Also, stuck on the boss who has a fire gimmick. I can’t tell if I need more HP or more dex for damage. Up to this point its been +10 ricard rapier +9 shotel.
If you look closely you will see crystal dust fall on the invisible bridges so not to sound like a dick, but if you fall off them you only have yourself to blame =P.
If you are really stuck, any long reaching weapon like a halberd can punish almost anything he does, and if you have The Great Scythe the fight is a joke. You can also take more than 50% of his health as soon as the fight begins if you have Fire Tempest.
God damn DSII is addictive. More so than the previous titles it seems. Just when I was screwing around in that poison area, I get another branch to cure petrification. New area unlocked. I was drawn in again. From does not want me putting this game down.
That’s what I meant. I didn’t know if it went straight to NG+ like in DeS and DS1. I ask cause it seems like there is a quest that you can do a certain way after the final boss.
I’m still stuck on the Smelter Demon… This guy ruins me and whoever else is with me every time I fight him. Probably wouldn’t be as difficult if my phantoms stayed alive and didn’t just pad the bosses health. At this point, I’m wondering if the Iron King would be easier…
Just go naked and 2 hand/dual wield vs smelter demon. I’d probably never want to let that guy touch me, blocking or not. Even something like a tower shield was getting some significant chip as soon as he buffs his weapon and he drains your stamina far too much for you to punish him.
All the bosses with weapons are pretty much the same… Don’t lock on, roll behind when they swing/thrust and then attack after they are done with their combo if there is any.
For smelter you may want some fire resist for when his body starts burning. There’s time to heal after he does his jumping strike… and I think he has a vertical slash he does that slows him down for a bit where you can heal.
