Man, how do ya’ll level up and shit, like you @Eren. We started at around the same time but you’re way ahead of me. I just started on Blighttown and im only level 35. Maybe you just play more than I do. But shit, I havent found any gear that is better than the starting gear I got. I did buff it up to +3 but I still would think I would find better shit. I got some sword off some dragon that is better than the short sword +7 I was using…
Restarted the game after watching some videos on YT. Made it to Blighttown. Encountered fatass zombie. Need to kill him faster. I have the pyromancy flame at +3 but the area isn’t the best for movement and it takes time to execute. So I need to be able to kill even faster. I got my Balder Side Sword up to +5 and does a 120 damage. It’s pretty damn fast. I also gave the blacksmith that’s near the first titanite demon the large ember. But somehow the option to upgrade my weapon to +10 isn’t there. I have the Large Titanite shard but usually if you’re missing a X amount of items, the game shows lets you know. So what am I missing that prevents my weapon from reaching the +10 option?
@Abbachio - Yeah I figured that the white one is for help, but do they help you fight off invaders? A lot of people were double teaming my character last night and I was overwhelmed. I thought this game was supposed to be everybody for themselves but apparently not! I spent 10 mins battling this one dude, then another phantom comes and helps him kill me. Why ruin a epic battle? Stupid fucker 
@dirzzt360 - I think we are still not that far off from each others positions. I only defeated the Blighttown boss last night and now I’m trying to figure out what’s the best way to proceed. I pretty much been to everywhere that didn’t concern the main story so I can farm souls and upgrade stuff like crazy. I read a lot of FAQs, sure it kinda spoils the game but I like to use my resources for the best experience. Plus, I wanna beat the game and a little PvP before the next Dark Souls comes out.
For Soul Level: Like somebody mentioned the forest behind that door in Darkroot is a good spot, the dudes there all give up 7000 souls per minute or so but they are powerful at that point of the game (one hit kills). The forest also seems to be a hotspot for invaders, I killed a guy and he gave up 40000 souls. Just knock them off the cliff to beat one or even all of them. When I want souls, I go here (at least for now)
Armor: Can’t go wrong with Elite Knight Armor early on. If you have that then you’re good, you should have it I think (forest). Stone Armor tanks better though, but it’s extremely heavy. I needed 48 endurance AND havel’s ring to run around in this thing. Running tank is advantageous though, especially for Blighttown. I forgot where I found the Stone Armor (forest I think)
Upgrading: You can’t upgrade the Stone Armor because it already has beastly stats, but EKA is good to go I would get up a bit. A lot of people like this armor because it is light and flexible. Andre is good, but I went to the Catacombs for this guy. I think he’s better, he turned my Zwei into Fire Zwei +5
Catacombs is no joke, try to upgrade/level up before going for the bridges. That’s pretty much all that I’ve looked into.
If you’re struggling with movement, consider returning to the Undead Asylum for the Rusted Iron Ring
All this talk makes me want to pick the game back up again. Got ripped open by the first boss of the DLC fucking thunder breath he does.

Alright, solved the upgrade problem. Decided to go back to the Northern Undead Asylum. Those damn black knights can kill me in 2 forward thrusts. I slayed them both. Pyromancer FTW. Tried to take the the hidden boss and lost 7000 souls in the process and could only break 100 damage if I 2-handed my weapon. I’ll be back for this bitch later.

From what I know, you can literally run circles around him. Thing is I don’t know what triggers him doing his AOE attack. If I can get that, I can take him but right now, I cannot even block anything he does and it takes 2 hits for him to kill me.
Just stay behind him at all times and when you see him using his stubby little arm run back like 5 steps.
I cheesed him with the Crystal Ring Shield my first playthrough… Haha. Did it the right way on NG+, though.
Omfg forget Blighttown, this fortress is bullshit! Who said the level design was good you’re outta your mind! Fuck man.
Another phantom invaded my world JUST as I got to the top and killed me. I gotta do that shit all over again, that’s insane. Bonfires anyone? Those axes are bullshit if you get hit you have to do it all over again, I did this shit 10 fucking times already! So many traps, so many bloodstains in this place. Imma be on later tonight I need a break.
I’ve been playing Dark Souls on PS3 for a while, but someone recently gifted a copy of it to me on Steam. Playing from scratch, I was reminded of how difficult that first run in with the Capra Demon is. I hate those dogs with a passion.
The game just gets harder and harder whether it be dogs and toxic arrows or whatever else they can think of. At least I made it to Anor Londo’s bonfire, but another phantom invaded my world and kill me again. It happens again, and again, and again, and again. Who the hell are these people? Do they just sit around all day preying on hopeless noobs like me? I want to be human, not a damn hollow!
I looked up something called the paladin armor. I need this armor, looks like Garl Vinland. I wish I can summon Garl Vinland so he can fuck up some of these asshole invaders.

Cleared out Blighttown yesterday. Place was a pain. Just gotta do everything hella slow and pull shit/kill shit from far away. I had mad souls when I was returning from the end of the place and all of the sudden I got killed by a bunch of arrow like things. I was wondering what the hell just one shotted me and figured I would see it when I went back to get my souls. It was like some little red crab thing, at least thats what It looked like, way off in the distance. It shot those arrow things at me again and killed me in one shot. Lost all my souls. I was pissed.
Anyway, made it back to the first bonfire and rested up then went and killed that lava spewing spider slut. Then I got the fuck outa that place. Now im at Sens Fortress or something like that. I made it a little ways last night in there but ended up getting killed. I called it a night after that. Im gonna try to run through there in a little bit.
You’re missing the point. I like being online so that my friends can send me invites to stuff, as much as I despise being a hollow it does cut back the invasions too.

I decided to do some adventuring before taking on Blighttown fully. Got the Gravelord Sword+1, a ton of purple moss, Pyromancer(starter) and Thief set, Pryomancy +4, and Dragon Crest shield. I missed the Spider Shield in the Depths. Fire Orb slaughtered those Basilisks but I fear going through that place again. I love the Gravelord Sword. Slayed the Undead Dragon in Valley of the Drakes pretty easily. Made Moonlit Butterfly more of a joke. Gonna stock up on arrows for divide and conquer then I’m going to wipe out Blighttown.

Gravelord Sword is high-tier as fuck. If you can handle it, getting it early on rapes the entire game. Only specific crafted weapons and really high level weapons beat it in raw damage, and it’s fast as hell+looks cool+has a giant hitbox.
The level design is ace in Sen’s Fortress because you have to constantly worry about the environment itself. I love that. Games don’t make the environment out to kill you as much as they used to.
