I had a dream about Dark Souls last night. It was a sequel and the intro to the game had clips explaining the back stories to a few of the NPCs using the in-game engine. And the antagonist looked to be this one guy who was there for far too long and couldn’t even remember where his body rested. And he told me that if I found his body to bring it back and he will tell me where to go next. But when he did that his face changed into this demonic looking insect creature.
So do you guys ever have Dark Souls dreams?
to FurryCurry- there should be a "loved’ button
Haha thanks. I just got 2/3rds of the game finished now sort of. I was about to learn all the Pyromancies but I sent Swamp Guy to his death accidently. Now I hate everything and I want to kill everyone. I might just do that.
My Dark Souls Narrative? Hurt the meek? I’ll burn the world!!!
Ugh, I kept trying to kill Seeth the wrong way apparently. Spent 3 deaths trying to dodge crystals, couldn’t find a way up, and got angry and threw a fireball at him only to find out he’s invincible. Thankfully I found a room I haven’t explored, so I’ll try that later.
You’re supposed to lose the 1st fight so he locks you up in a cell. Hope you have a Rare Ring on you to prevent Curse.
Dark souls pc is like 8 bucks on Amazon. Get to it.
I forced someone to borrow my copy of Dark Souls. I can’t wait for the game to sink its teeth into him.
Which stats should I focus on in this game? I’m just now starting it.
What type of character are you trying to make? Wanna make a tank or a glass cannon?
Oops.
ENDURANCE!!!
And whatever attack stats you wanna major in.
FUCK. I upgraded resistance before I read your response. Will remember to upgrade endurance in the future. Thanks
You dun fucked up by upgrading a single point in resistance.
Yeah, I know. Gonna have to tough it out til the next time I upgrade.
On another note, game is AWESOME so far. I actually felt like I did something after beating the first boss lol
Man didn’t I tell you never to level that up.
Ah, that was you, indeed you did. I knew somebody told me to level up something, couldn’t remember who or what.
Which stats should I focus on in this game? I’m just now starting it.
Spend those souls wisely as it gets quite expensive to level up stats when you reach higher Soul Levels.
Stat-leveling strats usually vary from person-to-person, but when you get enough experience, you’ll have some idea of what kind of ‘build’ you want to make and focus towards that specific goal.
Generally, invest your points relative to the build you decide to make and the equipment you want to utilize.
Also, some classes offer a decent base to build upon with the initial stat-point allotment.
Stats stuffs:
VIT - Having more HP (life bar) is good, but with some experience you can make due with a decent amount of HP through a standard New Game.
IIRC, 30 VIT gives you 1100 HP. 50 VIT is 1500. Solid breakpoint numbers/totals, but adjust accordingly relative to your expenditures in other stats.
ATT - Attunement Slots; sorcery/pyromancy/miracles equip.
Having a few slots is good, but will likely depend on the build you make and what disciplines you decide to utilize.
14 ATT gives you 3 slots, 19 ATT gives you 5, 50 ATT gives you 10 slots (max). Again, it depends on your preference.
You can also ‘stack’ sorcery/pyromancy/miracles stuffs to increase your stock at the cost of another slot. Also, some things require 2 slots to use so plan accordingly.
END - Stamina and Equip Burden stuffs.
Movement (especially rolling) is key to surviving various encounters with minimal damage incurred, especially in regard to your equipment load-out. That, and attack-string duration, block knockback, physical stuffs.
40 END gives you 160 Stamina (max) and about 80 lbs. of equip weight, enough to wear some slightly heavy armor sets (complete sets) and still have some range of effective movement along with your equipment load-out, though variable. More END means higher Equip Burden to be able to wear heavier sets without much penalty and Havel’s Ring helps out with this if you decide to go with heavy armors sets/equipment. Basically, if your total equipped stuffs is less than half of your total Equip Burden, you’re good to go for the most part with movement stuffs.
STR - Strength; equipment requirement, damage scaling.
Increased damage on STR-scaling weapons.
Wielding something 2-Handed cuts down on 1/3 of the weapons STR requirement, which is something to consider relative to what your build is.
DEX - Dexterity; equipment requirement, damage scaling.
Increased damage on DEX-scaling weapons.
RES - Resistances; poison mostly
Don’t spend points here.
INT - Intelligence; equipment and Sorcery requirement, Sorcery ATK power, damage scaling.
Increased damage on INT-scaling weapons and increased Magic Adjustment for most catalysts (Sorcery).
FTH - Faith; equipment and Miracles requirement, Miracles ATK power, damage scaling.
Increased damage on FTH-scaling weapons and increased Magic Adjust for most talismans (Miracles).
Humanity - Item Discovery, damage scaling.
Increased damage on Humanity-scaling weapons, item drop stuffs.

So do you guys ever have Dark Souls dreams?
Prior to playing Dark Souls, I somewhat had imagined what some of the locales in the game would be like when certain locations in the world of Lordran were mentioned in this thread.
From what I remember:
Blighttown - Something like (Lower) Undead Burg (perhaps a lower castle town area), but with more decay/ruin due to the deteriorating environs.
Sen’s Fortress - For some reason, I thought/pictured of something like Helm’s Deep from LotR.
Ash Lake - Basically, a descent much like Darkroot Basin into a large body of water at the bottom. Kinda like journeying into the Lake Hylia area in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess or something like 5-2 in Demon’s Souls.
After playing through the game though, I found the journey/arrival to Ash Lake was an interesting surprise.
Though at times, while journeying through Lordran, some of the environs made me think of some places in *Demon’s Souls
*
Blighttown - 5-1 and 5-2
The Catacombs - 2-2 (maybe 4-2 interior parts), but with some elements from World 4 thrown in, and a bit darker.
Sen’s Fortress - various parts of 1-1 put together, but more of an enclosed area and with more traps added
Well, that’s what I thought anyway, lol.
An enormous sign on the LA Convention Center, where E3 will be held starting June 11, pairs Dark Souls 2 with a March 2014 release window. Two separate photos...
Let the hype slowly build!
