I’ve finished the game at SL 10 haha. Feels good gimping yourself even more.
Beating the game at a low SL doesn’t really make it that much harder. This is mostly due to the fact that pyromancy has no stat requirements and is ridiculously over powered. If you can dodge, you can beat the game at SL 1.
Pyromancy? Overpowered? I’m going to pretend I never saw that shit mang.
SL 10 was pretty nails to be honest. I just piled END and Child Mask + Crest + Cloranthy and rolled with a fucking Balder Side Sword. The only major difficult parts were Anor Londo, O+S, Crystal “Fucking” Cave and Four Kings.
Felt good to finish it.
Power Within + Weapon buff of your choice will have you killing most bosses in seconds, and that’s without leveling up your pyromancy flame. With a max level pyromancy flame and 10 humanity Great Chaos Fireball will do at least half of certain bosses health with the four uses it has, if not outright kill them. It use to be worse, before they nerfed iron skin. Then you didn’t even have to dodge, you were just invincible.
I should also mention the power of the red tearstone ring in conjunction with power within. Your damage starts getting pretty wonky.
Cuz I wanna dodge everything.
I just sniped it this time. The first time is easy.
I haven’t played this game in about a week cuz of work, but fuck!
This game needs some up up down down abab select start.
Drake Sword, Guccitana, and Pyromancy are about as Konami Code as this game allows. At least from my limited experience. I haven’t made it to the blacksmith to spend my titanite shards yet…
I have the Drake sword and the very basic pyromancy but whats the guccitana? it sounds like a designer sword.
I was referring to the uchitana you can pick up from the merchant in the burg after you’ve bought what you’ve needed from him.
I’m bad with nicknaming weapons.
I’m talking pursuers or the laggy variant.
Dark bead is alright. Pretty much one shot at close range but limited casting, avoidable and mostly only effective at close range.
PURSUERS ON THE OTHER HAND, a lot more difficult in a laggy environment.
Weapon looks pretty beast as Raw or Ascended to 15.
RARE considering everything chaos @10 humanity rapes.
Can you still get the drake sword by shooting under the bridge?
Right now… waiting to make Z weapon fire and great sword Choas (i like how great sword staggers)
Also gonna make a chaos Halbread as it is so easy to farm with.
Seriously stab all day with that shit. NO RECOZVZERY!asdasdasds On the minus side, it can miss
Ran into a hacker last night.
I ended up disconnecting like a boss after he started running into crowds. No way I’m letting a hacker get my souls. A 800 dmg backstab only took 1/10th of his life. Both his WoG and one handed(!!) katana swing did 50%. He also had infinite stamina + Dark Magic spam. Thank god I had a friend with me.
Stay classy XBL
On a new crossbow build and I’ve never been so pissed off at this game, ffs I can be locked on to a stationary enemy and have my bolts sail past it and I swear a couple of times I’ve ended up having the bloody thing shoot at the damned ceiling rather than the skeleton rolling towards me. (As in I see the bolt actually heading skywards presumably, my character has something against stalegmites)
Prepare to die is fine, but prepare to miss stationary targets when locked on at damn near point blank range? Really?
Crossbows are whack.
[spoiler=This game is too big/spoiler] So I finally was able to make it out of Blighttown. I was at the bottom and was cursed and would get poisoned like every 3 seconds. I saw there was like a spider hole thing and either there was a message saying boss or I assumed it was a boss so I turned back.
Got to Firelink Shrine and for some reason the bonfire there is no longer active. It says the firekeeper dipped or something.
Then I decided to go back and try and finish the Catacombs…There’s just way too many places to go in this game. I now have a divine Halberd, but it doesn’t seem that different. You would think you’d see some magic dust or something in the attack, but nothing. I hope its working.
So anyways, I know I missed something in the catacombs because right before I got to Pinwheel, who was easy as hell btw, that giant room with all the spinning skeletons and the one black knight I got close to a wall and heard a blacksmith. Also, right near that wall is a hanging corpse with an item that I can’t reach. So I’ll have to go back and see where I missed it.
After beating pinwheel I decided to keep going. I’m now at the Tomb of the Giants and can’t see anything. I have that skull lantern thing and it was doing nothing, so I googled and apparently you have to use it in your left hand . Anyways, I made it to the bonfire that’s not too far down and I have a feeling this part is gonna be hard as hell.
If anyone wants to chime in and give tips, please do.
I agree with the exploration aspects and story elements, but sometimes the wiki really can be necessary for first time players. I mean, there is a ton of shit that the game literally never explains to you. Like weapon ascension, specific usage of boss souls, ect ect.
In other news, Demon’s Souls has been fucking me. Hard.
I’m only in Stonefang. Just killed the Armored Spider. Is it normal to ALWAYS feel like you barely have any souls at all? Everything is so fucking expensive and yet the enemies give such a small amount of souls. Am I missing something or does this game just involve a shitload of grinding?
Don’t bother with the Catacombs yet. Go into the spider hive thing and face the boss.
You went from Blight Town to Tomb of Giants? Have you gotten the lord vessel yet? You can’t actually fight the boss of ToG unless you have gotten the lord vessel.
Yeah, you hit the first bonfire so you good.
Kill spider and the game is more clear.
its actually a super fast game too, lol.
After you play it once youll be like, OH, I MEMBER!
I’m thinking of starting a new game, but I’m not sure what build to go for. Usually I like to focus on a weapon and build my stats around that. Most recently I did a faith/dex build focused on the Estoc for Wrath of the Gods/Darkmoon blade silliness.
Any suggestions for fun builds?
Some dude already posted this, but…
