It’s more than a resolution fix by now. I haven’t seen the updates since 1.5 but they were doing some voodoo ass magic.

Also I’ve tried mouse and keyboard without the mouse fix. It was literally unplayable, I’ll give details later.

Alright so pretty much here’s the big issues

•The camera was really sensitive, even when lowering ingame sensitivities and lowering DPI to a crawl.

• Target switching while locking on to a enemy was done by MOVING your mouse left and right. The game was so damn sensitive about this, at 1 ingame sensitivity and 300 mouse DPI… a slight touch on my mouse would target switch to something behind me. Oh and melee attacks are on mouse too. YEAHHHHHHH…

•Default keybinds were terrible

So the mousefix fixes all these, target switching went from moving the mouse to using a scroll wheel or whatever keybind you stuck it to. I’ve went from pad to keyboard for a playthrough and i’d say with proper bindings, you’ll be comfortable playing through just fine.

If you’re loyal to your pad, that’s fine just stick it into your computer via usb or bluetooth.

Also on Dark souls for PC; the community made some sick skins.

So in conclusion; If Durante didn’t step in with the DSFix, I’d be telling everyone here to stay the fuck away from the PC version. If you have an up to date computer for gaming, it’s going to look fucking pretty with all the options to tune up graphics that the DSFix offers.

Mileage may vary for mid range, but I’ve heard some stories of lower end computers running blight town at a consistent 30 frames.

People act like these games are the hardest thing ever made… they’re really not, the Souls games are easy once you’re over that learning curve, they are just brutal when you’re starting out. It’s the same as fighters, or any old - school platformers. I honestly think they should make Dark Souls II a lot harder than Dark Souls because difficulty wise Dark Souls was a let down after Demon’s Souls and with Dark Souls experience people are not going to find II as hard if they don’t ramp it up.

Or at the very least a “new undead hero” i.e. whoever you yourself are, i.e. you: the chosen undead, non-specifically, you fill in the blank, choose what said hero is.

You can use your PS3 pad. There are programs that trick ur pc into thinking it’s using a 360 controller.

There are a ton of patches from different people, sometimes it’s a hassle to get things to work but once you do it’s all good.
Or you can just outright plug in a 360 controller, darksouls on keyboard is okay but I feel a gamepad is much better.

I also didn’t like the trailer that much. From all the dark creators DS/DkS had, why show a dragon and bunch of assasins?

Also, supposedly Miyazaki is not working on it this time. This scares me a bit, but again, look at Halo 4. I just saw this quote:

I am glad they said this. I want to feel like I felt the first time I played 5-2 or entered Blighttown. The atmosphere is the most important thing to me to enjoy the next Dark Souls.
I want to see a real trailer like the first Dark Souls trailer so I am at ease. I want to see very big and “weird” monsters/bosses, dark but at the same time different places, and I want the publicity of the game be just like Dark Souls. “You will die, a lot, and you’ll like it”.

It is not that they are new, it is how they want to make the game more “approachable” and make less things about the game secret. The reason people still play the games to this day is that there are so many things to learn and do, even for hundreds of hours it still is interesting. If everything was straight out told you to you it would get boring more quickly.

@Sarangha I remember I tried to get my pad working on my old XP PC but I never could get it to work. Since I have no choice now, I’ll give it a try. I want a Saturn USB pad though, that’d be awesome.
