Demon's/Dark Souls Thread. Dark Souls II!

I agree, I was just generally adding to your post more than refuting it

I have Skyrim, I don’t know why I keep going back to this game.

I dunno, I’m having a lot of fun even when I start all the fuck over.

Man, it’s nuts to me that you guys “max” vit. Maybe I’m just a stubborn Demon’s Souls player, but I feel as though you should die in two hits max at all times.
I guess that’s what makes this game amazing though - it’s really as difficult as you want it to be (thankfully I’m not enough of a glutton for punishment to try to beat it at SL1 like some of the other masochists on the 'net, though!)

Game is so good though. I’m actually kinda having a good time prepping for NG+ by buying up all of the miracles/pyromancies/sorceries and gathering rings and prepping bonfires etc. It’s kinda weird.

I’ve been one shot by a Crystal Soul Spear @ 1800HP

I still can’t make an elemental weapon. Unless I am doing something wrong cause I have used zero magic so far. And played through most of the game with a two handed spear and now have enough strength to carry a shield. Just unlocked the ability to make divine weapons and have about 22-25 shards to make a magic weapon. I just don’t know if a magic weapon is more useful in a mage based build or is just good on anything.

I wish someone told me don’t use your fire ember souls and give them to someone. Now that I found another soul they aren’t even there to offer.

The divine and occult weapons scale with faith, if you’re not looking to use that stat the only use you will find for (at least a faith) one is in the catacombs nothing more.

Elemental embers are found in the Duke’s Archives you’re a ways a way

There are other firekeepers and you will have a chance to save the one you lost, due to spoilers I won’t go too far into detail on how/when since it’s a pretty cool questline.

I think I have the item for the firekeeper just it wont let me use it. And I have at least 4 items to make unique weapons, but don’t have something to make them I guess. I had no business fighting most of those bosses as I am currently maybe level 60.

At the moment I am lost on where to go next but here are the areas I haven’t completed.

Spoiler

Catacombs
Valley of Drakes
Whatever is behind the spider boss that I think leads nowhere.
Area underneath the start location.
The door behind the dragon in the starting area.

Of course you can do what you want but this was a good guide.

You killed the spider boss, so that means you rang the bell right? You should have a cutscene where sen’s fortress opens up near the fireplace right next to andre the blacksmith. Spend your souls before you go first time through is always the hardest and it’s cake anytime after that.

I completed the fortress, but didn’t walk into the path of brilliant light cause I thought it was the final boss despite me checking at all.I’ll go back though thanks. This game must be longer than I think it is.

That level was frustrating. Get almost to the top get hit by a fireball and stagger and fall to my death. Go back and die on the walk way cause something else knocked me down. Get to the boss and he knocks me off the stage two or three times.

Pun: I forgot you got this game. Though I got it on PS3 cause both my xbox analogs lock in forward if I touch them and have to recenter. And as this game is already I didn’t want to die due to controller issues.

The blacksmith in the Catacombs can go +5 Fire with no embers, and the Green titanite shards for a +5 are easily farmed in Blighttown.

Yea I get every major title that comes out but just to semi spoil it for you, when you reach the end of the game, the game literally just ends so do what you have to do before the final fight.

I was referring to the literal Elemental and Magic weapons

then you should know Magic weapons are upgraded to Enchanted weapons, not Elemental weapons.

Yeah that’s my bad

So I got the Dark Souls platinum trophy today. Took me about 160 hours total, congrats to the peeps who got the platinum as well. I know most people say Demon Souls was harder to get the plat but in my experience it was easier. I guess cause I lucked out and got the pure blade stone in 2 hrs. I feel Dark Souls requires in depth knowledge to a point where you have to know where NPC’s will be at what time. The AI is also more brutal in this game, granted the 2nd and 3rd playthroughs are easier.

I was fighting the Iron Golem in the third playthrough and he fell off the stage on his own rofl. As of patch 1.05 Lost Izalith is now a joke, you can run through it without getting hit once by Bounding Demon’s of Izalith. I wonder why they chose to do that? Also the 25 faith requirement for the Warrior of Sunlight Covenant plus better drops makes it easier to plat. So maybe 1.05 is easier than Demon Souls but pre patch it was harder for sure.

Here is a vid of me getting the plat as well as my character stats.

I am considering buying magic to beat the Anor Londo boss. No matter where I focus my attacks I still have trouble. At about level 70+ my lightning spear does maybe 40-50 damage, but even other weapons I use they seem weaker in comparison despite the attack being higher. When I start this game over I am making a strength build.

Which boss are you referring to? Also Lightning weapons don’t scale with anything so your SL is irrelevant you need to upgrade the weapon itself

Executioner and dragonslayer. I read online to use Havels armor with his ring which I had, but completely forgot I had it. Main issue is I don’t do enough damage after the second part of the fight. I think I will end up making a furysword since I haven’t used any of the boss souls for weapons. Mostly cause they are too heavy to carry efficiently with how my stats are.

Can I upgrade a lightning weapon later in the game?

Beat the fatass first, for materialistic purposes.
