Demon's/Dark Souls Thread. Dark Souls II!

Where can I find some good armor for my Wanderer? I made the mistake of buying some armor that ended up slowing me down. Now I have to equip the ring of great strength if I want to be able to roll.

after many days of work I finally had a chance to play again, I picked up the Winged Spear (which can be turned into the Moon Winged Spear, which I hear is awesome). And I killed the dragon in 1-2 using soul arrow, lol. Took 30 minutes and some aiming, but I managed.

flamelurker was super easy for me. if you run north next to the door(access after you defeat him) he will get stuck on the rocks, and keep running toward you but wont move. so i just stood there and shot arrows at him. he would sometimes get free by jumping from side to side, but then i would just run toward the entrace then double back to to the exit door, and he would get stuck again.

I am stuck on the maneater right now. boss is whooping me, and its a pain getting to him because that stupid black phantom. I really need to go get the thief ring. Does anyone have any advice on beating the maneater?

I absolutely hated Maneater. If you want to be cheap, stock up on a lot of arrows and try together stuck on the left side of the fog wall leading to the boss; you kind of stick through t and you’re able to shoot arrows at it. I tried it a few times and never had enough arrows or it was taking way too
long.

I think you can do poison cloud or maybe it was death.

For me, I got lucky by having one of the Eaters stuck on the bridge by the entrance while I lured the other to the big circle fire thing a the other end. I kept on keeping it on the other side and attacked only when he’d do the flame attack (the big circle blocks the flames).

I used the warding spell (massively reduces physical damage taken) and two-handed my strongest weapon and just smacked the hell out of it. If you can spend as little time as possible fighting both of them together and keep your warding spell up then it’s not so bad, but still the hardest boss I’ve fought so far. Take lots of healing/magic items to keep your health and MP up, and try to stay in the larger circular area so you can’t get knocked off the side as easily. If all else fails just save him for way later, the only thing after that is the final boss of that world so you can wait until you have a more buffed up character.

And yeah, flamelurker is easy if you get him stuck on the bones, but otherwise he’s a huge pain. I eventually gave in and killed him that way just because I got really tired of jumping down to the boss room. Besides, that’s exactly the kind of bitch tactic a thief character should be doing anyway.

I started a new game as a knight because I wanted to play around with some heavy weapons and holy shit it is way easier than thief. I know part of it is that I’ve already overcome the initial learning curve, but I can just kill things way faster and take a lot more hits. I cleared all of 1-1 and beat Phalanx without dying, a feat that took me half a day and many deaths with the thief.

man Royal’s are pretty easy mode for the first 2 bosses, I was having trouble with the Tower Knight but then I started using Spell Arrow from the wall and killed it mad quick. Just waited til it moved it’s shield to charge up it’s range spell and cast mine, then rolled back to dodge the spell. Rinse and repeat, I was so mad when I figured that one out because I had lost nearly 9,000 souls in that fight(5,000 my first time cuz I didn’t know he was there and around 1,000 the following tries because that’s how much I got from enemies on the way.

Oh and Soul Arrow is also good for the red dragon, I didn’t have to spend thousands on arrows to take it down.

EDIT: a couple times in the tower right before the Tower Knight’s room I saw this glowing white “rat” thing, first time I saw it I thought it was a random light but the second time I saw it was moving, and chased it. Didn’t know what to do with it, does anyone know?

That’s a Crystal Lizard, you can kill it for some Ores like the Hardstones or Sharpstones.

I played my first run as a Temple Knight and while doing Melee you can survive some hits, it makes some bosses a HUGE pain in the ass. For example, Armor Spider totally sucks as melee and it’s even worse on NG+. Same goes for False King as well.

SPOILER BELOW

If you’re a melee character and you’ve been saving Ostrava, you can get a key from him that unlocks the Mausoleum where the Red Knight in stage 1-1 is. You’ll fight Old King Doran here but just deal 25% damage to him (which is really easy) and he’ll give you his sword Demonbrandt. I absolutely tore through enemies with this sword, just make sure you got the reqs for it.

In the Tower of Latria shortly after the arrow machine I encountered a zombie NPC whom I accidentally killed. While walking towards him, I thought that he was just a normal zombie (because he looked just like the others and I could target him), but as my character was doing the sneak attack back stab, I noticed that there was a talk option, but it was too late, and I had killed him.

Anyone know who this guy was? Was I supposed to keep him alive?

The dude upstairs? If so don’t worry about it.

That damn red dragon won’t move. I don’t even want that stupid shield and ring anymore. FUCK YOU DRAGON.

QE - I just bought 260 some arrows. I AM COMING FOR YOU DRAGON.

I order my copy from freakin Monday of last week and still haven’t gotten it from Amazon because apparently they are located in the amazon.

Are spears dexterity?

Is there a ring that re-gens MP? I was co-oping with some dude while in Soul Form and not once did he use any spice, at least to my knowledge. I noticed at times he would be glowing continuously for a minute or so, which led me to believe he had some sort of accessory that allowed him to regen.

Game is crack, btw. Love it.

And partner up. The game is 100x easier when someone has your back

Fragrant ring for MP regen, one of the swords does it too iirc.

Any weapon upgraded with darkmoonstone will regen mp as well, I believe. An iirc, they all stack.

Finally beat the Tower Knight… My god, so easy with Soul Arrow.

Ah ok, thanks! Since I’ve heard that killed NPCs don’t come back in this game, I was scared that I might have taken out a useful merchant or something.

I just fought the flamelurker with a blue phantom, who had an ice spell. I thought the battle was gonna be over fast, but the phantom player died. :shake: I put up a fight, but I eventually died. Almost beat him too. Wanderers can’t use magic, right? Besides ice magic, I don’t know what’s effective against the boss.

All classes can use magic, it’s just a matter of getting the required faith/will + buying + _____ soul if needed.

you must’ve chosen free shipping. That’s like 2-3 week wait, not worth it imo.
