I don’t know about you guys but I LOVE fighting Doom.
You can stay under Doom as long as you like. You have Acid Rain, Twister, Jam Session, well placed sword normals, and Air Trick to make Doom play this match on the ground where you excel.
Crystal stops him from advancing on the ground and at airdash height bar none.
j.M xx airplay really blows up Nova’s typical approach options. If you can get space you can zone more effectively with the use of Crystal, Drive, st.L/M. Play a patient game and you’ll see that Nova is going to struggle more than you do if you’re using your tools correctly. Things get more challenging depending on what assists he’s packing so that just depends on what you have as well. Patience is key though.
Against Wolverine that first scramble will decide a lot. Dante is pretty comfortable up-backing in the corner though since you have j.S and raw Hammers to keep Wolverine’s nuttiness in check. So even if you’re cornered it shouldn’t feel that way. If you manage to get distance between you Crystal/Drive and again are your friends in stop his approaches cold if they’re just trying to assist+beserker from full screen.
You can launch poorly spaced divekicks and space him out with st.L. You can also punish bad divekicks by dashing under if they’re too high and hitting him with a meaty st.M upon landing. The threat of reverb, hammer, and stinger should dissuade them from going crazy though. Don’t be to SJ away from danger either. You can come down with j.S as long as you OS the hammer input for both sides to prevent Left/Right shenanigans. Snap is also always an option too. It costs a bar, but it’s the fastest move you’ve got.
Something I like to do is backdash, M,H on reaction. If hit hits, I get a free combo, if he blocks, I cancel into Weasel Shot and either re-establish positioning or call an assist to get in that ass.
