No, Shining Rebelion (lol spelling) is completely “new.” ie. same normals/specials and practically the same sprite as Reizei, but with different bullets and a different/crappier super.
But Shining Rebelion’s super is just an homage to He-Man.

But the character designs are too generic.

If I were to play this game I would try, Yui, Eve, and Dusk.
I think the weirdness of this game is a turn-off to some people. For me, not not at all. After playing BB and GG, you just get use to weirdness after a while.
lol Dusk looks pretty interesting to play.
Yui seems cool as well. She looks to have some fast moves and some moves with good range.
Eve’s pressure game looks pretty sick.
Her legs has quite some range as well.
Most interested in her if I ever play the game.
I’m liking Eve a lot too. Seems like I would be able to pressure with her like crazy. The Priest guy seems really cool too. Too bad it’ll be forever till I can play this game.
She can pressure pretty well IMO.
I love Eve, her 5C being cheap costing and fast projectiles is nice. That and along with her Rekka strings she can stay on a person even if she’s pushblocked a little. Her biggest problem I can see right now is she doesnt have good reversals to get herself out of bad situations.
Ah so she’s awesome with the rushdown but sucks when it’s turned back on her. Maybe she has a special move quick enough to stop some combos?
Pretty much no. Waaaay too inconsistent. But she can pushblock 5C with a lot of pressure strings.

Damn, guess you have to be careful not to get caught in any kinda big combo.
there’s always the game’s defensive options.
Push blocking (low risk),
the Bride/Alpha Counter thing (med risk +1 EX bar)
or if your desperate, you can burst which will get them away from you, but it drains your entire bride bar, which is trouble.
Damn, I thought I was the only one doing EX Kick from full screen.
I’d recommend you almost never burst unless you have tons of EX meter or you’re really about to die. It’s not worth it. You lose the ability to pushblock and can be chipped to death by projectiles. If you’ve got enough EX meter you can sometimes stall long enough (depends on char) for your bar to recharge but seriously, just resist the temptation to burst out of a combo. Lol.
Wow I didn’t think Bursting would be so bad for you in this game. I still have a lot to learn.
