Primaries are just party politicing bullshit. Letting regular people vote in them amounts to a long and complicated poll to see who the best candidate is. Parties are free to decided how they choose their candidates. Primaries not happening in a fair or democratic way means nothing since its just a very grandiose internal selection process.
Presidential elections really need a No Confidence option that, if given enough votes, eliminates both candidates that ran and starts the process over. Third parties are just throwaway votes and the current two party system just means that you go vote against the party you don’t want, not to support a candidate you do.

you’d be surprised at how many south carolinians show up at town halls and other political events and how many are invested in their local communities when it comes to the issues.

my race politics professor hinted at a possible source, and that’s the belief that if you aren’t one of us, you will never understand. He wasn’t for it, but he was in the camp that dudes can’t really comment on how women are treated en mass in the states regarding harassment.
I otld my friend once who was an adamant supporter of occupy wall street, and now black lives matter, that these movements are fucking failures and will amount to nothing. They need structure and support, with intelligent leaders and a clear objective. Dude said that’s dumb, and movements like this can’t afford that leadership because the government would go out of it’s way to kill them or silence them. Government doesn’t need to do that anymore, they can easily use other human beings to discredit the movement. Sort of like how thunderfoot and his like have discreted atheism+, feminism, and the mizzou movement.
Funnily, the communist professor ranted about how people are dumb for wanting these groups to evolve into legitimate groups. He argued and ranted that these groups need to stay leaderless, and instead be, Im paraphrasing: mass democratic social movements to allow instant change and fluidity in a changing environment.
