You might have to explain the details of the air throw video. I’m at a lost at what’s going on there.

I see that your throw is whiffing, so that’s only happening because of the jumping Cammy’s air throw whiff? Why exactly does that happen?

Well at the corner post super:

  • double lk tkcs, immediate jump forward, j.lk

This is what I do after super, its dp safe. Either stuffs (hp reversal dp) or force whiff (if dp done outside reversal window). Tho u lose the corner advandage since u land behind.

I think it delays Cammy landing enough that she is still air born so they will whiff their throw.

Hmmm… I see. That makes me wonder if her hitbox shrinks during the air throw animation, making her land later.

or simply a hitbox bug where if she whiffs an air throw, her throwable (blue box) is missing during the landing frames thus becoming throw-immune for a split second. I wouldn’t be surprised by this because SF4/SSF4 has lots of weird hit boxes…

Dont know if this is a safe jump OS set up but i am sharing it in case a higher level cammy player than me examines it and finds anything

So Cammy has been my main for the last month or so and i really need advice. I’m not an amazing player and I know i drop combos. i’m in the training room everyday and i wanted a more experienced Cammy to give me advice. I upload my Ranked matches to my youtube which is LoveableCammy5. If u can give me some pointers or criticize my gameplay i would appreciate it. I just saw your guile match and I think your biggest problem is your reactions. There were a lot of unanswered jump ins (one you focused) and you didn’t hit confirm any jump in. If you land a jump in you should cr. MK -> spiral arrow at the least, not the low short low jab combo.

On the Guile matchup I want to see more walk up block and less random ex drill. You should also go for more tick throws. I know you were afraid of the flash kick, but it’s a risk you should take once in a while.

It seems like you use random arrows way too often, and you throw it out without hit confirming first, or even after confirming a block. Even if you end up canceling it, you want that meter to cancel spikes and to ex strike.

You also seem to use FA a lot, which I really don’t like. Maybe others have found ways to use it correctly, otherwise I’d suggest completely dropping it outside of very specific spots/matchups.

I drop combos all over the place as well, and have a hard time against Guile and Blanka. I’d suggest never jumping at a crouching Guile, even if it works against scrubs, it’s not a good reflex to have. You can jump over booms, or whenever he walks, but even then, watch out for his good AA normals. And what Seiku said about punishes. Your punishes looked very good against Ken, but lacking vs Guile.

In Guile matchup, it’s bad idea FA a lot.
Because when you absorb his fireballs you are building his meter, and all Guiles likes ex-fireballs a lot.

Guile and Blanka are my worst match ups by far… i just dont see the WIN… but thanks for the advice… less spiral arrows and FA. I’ll work on the and continue to post videos. I dont mind fighting Ryu or Ken all day, lol. Sagat is a pain though.

Against Blanka, use safe Spiral Arrows, use less cr. HK (useless) and your cr.LKs are too far.

So I played some random Blanka today after watchin ur video and i kept the pressure on but also punished his blanka balls with my spiral arrows. i played it smart won the first round and wasw about to win the 2nd round until he DC’d! I wanted to post the replay but there is no replay since he DC’d right as i was about to win. But thanks for the video

well, near as i can tell that setup is neither a option select or a safe-jump. you can clearly see the jump fp not hitting anything on his way in and no special move followed.

to me it just seemed like a good way into tricking justin to block high (thinking the jump hp would hit him) and actually go low with the cr.lk

i wouldn’t be too quick to just xcopy too terribly many tricks like these… this kind of stuff works very infrequently and primarily as a result of other aspects of your play style.

Any time Blanka does that EX Rainbow shit to get out of the corner or tryda mix you up with it, just wait for em to get close to you with it and hit s. HP. She will bat that shit out of the park (not really) w/ that close Fierce punch. That way you dont have to guess which side to block.
