This is in reference to the deletion of the Tekken op-ed on SRK’s front page. Why was this allowed to be deleted? If it passed the scrutiny of SRK’s front-page editor, it should stay up. People were having a discussion about it and it became an important piece on the accessibility of fighting games. Removing it stopped that discussion on its heels and that’s not productive for anyone.
If the writer pulled it, he should be removed from the writing staff for not having enough conviction to stand behind his work and face his critics. If the editor removed it, he should be replaced because if s/he thought it worked on his first read it should have remained and allowed to generate some discourse.
Or whatever. I just hate having things removed just because a bit of heat came down. I hate how it was handled.
