Deletion of Front Page Articles on SRK

This is in reference to the deletion of the Tekken op-ed on SRK’s front page. Why was this allowed to be deleted? If it passed the scrutiny of SRK’s front-page editor, it should stay up. People were having a discussion about it and it became an important piece on the accessibility of fighting games. Removing it stopped that discussion on its heels and that’s not productive for anyone.

If the writer pulled it, he should be removed from the writing staff for not having enough conviction to stand behind his work and face his critics. If the editor removed it, he should be replaced because if s/he thought it worked on his first read it should have remained and allowed to generate some discourse.

Or whatever. I just hate having things removed just because a bit of heat came down. I hate how it was handled.

This isn’t the first time this ahs happened hasn’t it? Could have sworn a few others that have been hotly debated have been removed.

I don’t know if it is but it’s stupid. If SRK wants to be a huge commercial site it’s going to need to learn how to run its front page. A bunch of idiots are in control of it right now and it’s showing.

Anyone have a google cache of the article?

@Miyomei , The article was garbage, it was deleted because it didn’t bring anything productive to be discusses, plus it was written by someone who clearly lacked the knowledge about Tekken in general

I believe someone archived that article on TekkenZaibatsu if you really want to kill some brain cells.
