Delete this thread.

You totally called it.

I wasnt aware guys can have periods.

Me either. The more you know, apparently.

Seems like you dont know what sex you are though.

Can we keep this thread on topic, dude? If you’re that curious about the whole “what is Lobelia” thing then PM me or IM me or basically ask me anywhere but here.

k

Thank you good sir.
Now, to get back on topic, I wonder if DreamTR will come around these here parts and give us an update on any patching that might take place. Perhaps improve the online play to STHD quality? Hm?

I actually like MK vs DC online better than STHD. Both have issues, but as random as it is, that trading thing from MK seems less random and unfair than the stupid teleports beating our moves in STHD, IMO. The good thing about ST is that connections are rarely lost, and from that MK could learn a thing or two.

MK vs SF would actually be nice. I’m not that interested in crossovers, but when people are playing Tatsunoko against Capcom, Star Wars against Soul Calibur and other kinds of shit, I don’t think complaining about MK vs SF is the way to go. With the exception of the Marvel games, MK vs SF por Capcom could be the coolest crossover so far, and the character’s appeal easily outweighs CvS, for instance. Let’s not even address Smash here.

If you think crossovers are stupid, that’s OK. I even agree for the most part. But believing weird asses like Benimaru, Yoda, Pokemon and Karas are cooler than MK or SF for crossovers, well, that’s kind of a weird ass statement too.

G4 poked a bit of fun at some of the “heroic brutalities” in this game. The results gave me some lulz.

I know for a fact Paulo and the guys already are working on “stuff”

Oops. Fail. :stuck_out_tongue:

The idea that the MK license will be picked up by a different company is very intriguing. It does seem inevitable, now that Midway is up for grabs.

With that in mind, I would like to see MK re-done in 2D; from scratch. As much as I have wanted the 3D MK games to be good, I feel pretty satisfied with MK vs DC. Sure, the 3D engine can be improved–but, I think it’s time to embrace the two dimensions. Completely re-work the mechanics of the game, having it be more like…oh, let’s just say Guilty Gear. The combo-heavy gameplay of past MK games would seem to favor a 2D fighting mechanic that’s very chain heavy…but, that’s just me.

Whether or not you include the same classic characters from past MK titles or add new ones is up for debate. Frankly, seeing a new 2D MK with the cast of MK characters from MK vs DC would make me very happy. So, we’ll just have to see what the future has in store for MK.

You mean like CvS? Or any other crossover game (including MKvDC)?

What’s all the fuss about?

I don’t know. All 3D MKs prior to MK vs DCU were kinda crappy, and some people may argue the same about this one. But, asides from that, MK vs DC and to some extent the earlier 3D MK games are the first 3D games in which long range attacks matter. If they get it right, it can be the first game with the best of 2 worlds. MK vs DCU gt it right, and some patches could may make it great for competiive purposes, and I would like to see what they could do in the next few games with competitive players like DreamTR working on them.

There are enough vague similarities between the fighting mechanics of Street Fighter and The King of Fighters for Capcom vs. SNK to make sense. There are no parallels whatsoever between the fighting mechanics of Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, especially now.

So this turned into a flame and troll thread quickly.

I figured.

That’s why Lobelia is on my ignore list.

As much as I love MK, I’d have to agree that all of last gen’s MK games were shallow, and MKVDC Universe did do some good stuff to reverse the trend. However, it’s kind of apparent if you look at MKVDC against its contemporaries that it’s probably not going to be showing up at a lot of tournaments any time soon. It still has balance problems, and doesn’t have the depth of a Tekken or a Street Fighter. Also, I think it’s painfully obvious that should have used less buttons for the game. When your game uses anything more than the d-Pad/joystick and 6 buttons, you’re doing something wrong.

I’m guessing the fact that MK still doesn’t quite meet “hardcore standards” is largely from Midway’s lack of resources. They’re a quarter billion dollars in debt, and that obviously didn’t happen overnight. I’m hoping that MK’s next publisher is going to have the resources to inject some fresh blood into the game’s creative team, and make a game that truly is capable of going toe-to-toe with today’s other fighting games. It’s high time there was another Mortal Kombat that was good enough for arcades and tourneys (even though arcades are dead in the US). If it’s someone like EA or Capcom, I think that this will happen. If it’s Activision or Ubisoft though… Eh… Not so much.

Fine. Make a new thread.

…what the shit taco just happened!?
