So after about 3 months of use I have a defective Hori Real Arcade Pro 3. A few days ago I was playing my brother and I noticed the joystick wouldn’t respond when I wanted to do a crouching charge with Balrog. I was like WTF, and figured disconnecting the HRAP3 would resolve the issue. The issue became worst and now it won’t respond to any down movement.
I went to the HORI website and I’m not under the 90 day warranty because I didn’t purchase from an authorized retailer.
Just wanted to know if this is a common problem. Do I have a defective PCB? How easy is it to replace it? Any advice would help. Thanks.
have you tried opening it up and making sure the joystick is not loose from its pins? When my friend was putting in my LS-32 in for my SE stick it wouldn’t register left. Tried reconnecting the harness and everything and had the same problem. Then we looked at the pins of the harness and noticed there was adhesive on one of them so we cleaned it up and it works perfectly now. Not saying theres adhesive on yours but make sure the inspect the joystick’s connections.
I opened it up today and I noticed one of connector points for the JLF was completely off. I was able to place it back and the HRAP3 works perfectly fine now. Im glad it was a small problem and nothing more serious. Thanks for everybody for the advice.
This same problem is now happening to my friend’s HRAP 3, but it’s definitely not a connector. I don’t know what to do to fix it. I resoldered the wiring harness to the PCB, and it still won’t respond. I’d rather not replace it with a Cthulu because he probably doesn’t want to spend the $ to do that (he’s kinda broke).
