My biggest want would be knockdown on med and hard dread kicks just like the good ol days.
A faster crouching short (even by 1 frame, a 3 frame short would be dope though), mgu (and ex) not dropping people after the 1st couple hits connect (will make comboing into mgu after cr.jabs more viable), and make ultra 1 a bit more fireball invincible as well traveling the screen faster.
Oh and slightly better hitbox on jumping jab and knee.
its already really good compared to most fireballs. i wish it guile’s had more recovery instead lol
things deejay players need to abuse:
jab jab walk forward lk sobat
So I started to reevaluate my vortex in order to become less predictable and man has it payed off. My buddy was completely lost to what side i was gonna land on and was open up over and over again.
Man I didn’t know you could do that it’s very deceptive gonna add that to my pressure game.
its pretty solid, but it loses to stand throw and grapplers. i want throw invincibility back.
Does EX sobat kicks have some throw invincibility?
Yea the start of the move Dj’s airborn, I’ve been EX fallin sky’d out of it once
Sorry ya’ll, I’m dropping Dee Jay after Evo. I’m starting to (Finally) see what major issues he has. I play rush down DJ because I hate to zone, I’ve tried working on my zoning as well as footsies to make up for my weaknesses yet I feel as though the character does not have the tools I need.
I don’t have an idea of what character I will switch to, but before I played DJ, I was a Rufus and Cammy player.
I guess after evo, i’ll share some of the tools that only I seem to use.
When I say I’ve tried to create a unique play style of Dee Jay, I meant I tried…
1:36:40
me vs keno
i played too many scrub balrogs that do ex headbutt after turn punch, thats why im so scared to do anything after lol
It’s been too long since I’ve been on AE or the DeeJay forums here…Marvel’s had me in a spellbind lol.
I see everyone’s gotten back to that phase where we’re wishfully thinking buffs that would make DeeJay tournament viable
so am i the last deejay standing?
Hatrify = Ken/Dud
Da Knut = Trying to switch to guile, but still plays Deejay in ATL
Dialupslim = Cam/Ruf
So its just me and Afii repping in tournament? I said i wanted to quit, but now i feel a sense of obligation
I am still reppin deejay as my main because he just works for me. The only other character I even remotely use is E.ryu but that’s because I used him alot in alpha 3.
I’m still repping him, but I’m a few levels down from you guys and playing in smaller Australian tournaments that have limited stream coverage.
I’m going to work on a pocket Adon, but I’m planning to keep maining Dee Jay for a while yet.
Dee Jay always smiles no matter what. So should we and we should stick to him, the almighty rhythm master.
The sad thing is, the only fun character to play is Ken. I tried other chars, but something feels off.
I started as Rufus and cammy… dont play em anymore
Sounded like you were going back. I like Ken, just abusing kara throw online tho lol
Hmmm i think deejay is better than i think.
I think we should build a list of positive and negatives, just to see.
Positive:
good crossup
good fireball
ok mix up
good walk speed
great AA (upkicks)
great AA damage (170 for upkicks x2)
solid normals
good punish damage (cr. mp x MGU 273?)
both ultras do massive damage
U2 big damage and easy land off one bar (its easy, don’t say it isn’t! lol)
Negative:
no ground wake up
normals highly outclassed by the mid high tier footsie characters
hole in his AA game
damage could be better
ok mixup (i know i put it twice)
a lot of recovery on normals
no overhead
terrible backdash
awkward forward dash
slow super
slow u1 which does a terrible job at punishing fireballs
After making this quick list i feel like deejay has been where he’s always been. A jack of all trades, but a master of none.
