Make st. Mk anti air as well as guiles or make far rh hit more vertically. There’s a big gap between the first and second active frames.

Man, dee jay aint got shit on any of the more popular char picks. I went to evo and and ran into nothing but feis and vipers… I lost to a ibuki in winners, then to a fei long( inthul). mighty kurokiba lost to a dhalsim and someone else.

all my loses have made me humble, it sucks when people know how to shut down dee jay

How often do you guys use st.strong or cr. fierce? I barley use them at all… don’t know if that’s a good thing or if im missing out on a way to make certain match ups easier

Far/close st.strong are AAs. close st.strong hit opponents right above your head. Cr.Fp is a great antipoke, it stuffs a bunch of special moves… tatsus, psycho crushers, blanka balls etc…, It beats dive kicks at most ranges (Even Rufus’), It’s a solid frame trap and it sometimes make people think that you lost your down charge.

Should I be mashing Ex mgu?? I don’t see many people doing it…

If its followed by ultra, no. Anything else yes.!

How do you guys follow up U2? I sometimes go for a throw but usually backdash. Either way I seem to get hit >.<

I think I’m about to quit this game. I invested so much time into learning Deejay but I play online. Deejay is still mediocre/FREE against the most used characters and online compounds the issue. Switching characters isn’t really feasible to me. Online is a terrible experience for charge characters who only have 1 good normal and shitty back dashes =o(

Due to the fact nobody really plays Deejay too much the knowledge base is pretty thin too. I dunno man.

A lot of my deejay knowledge comes from experience and its kind of hard to share. If you need more knowledge ask and anybody can try to help or develop tech.

Some characters can’t punish a mashed EX MGU.

There is no solution. You have to guess and you must have knowledge of your opponent options. I wouldn’t back dash against a character like Dudley or throw Ryu when he has full meter and a ultra. Zangief and Honda scares me. They can beat all of your options but you can’t beat all of theirs.

I personally would like an extra frame off of air slash or atleast restore the hitstun and blockstun of the old slasher.
I’d like them to increase the damage of both the mk and HK upkicks so LK upkicks doesnt do more damage than them.

Fuck the bullshit. I’d have no problem w/ Yun & Fei having what they have or Giefs full screen SPD range if Deejay had an overhead, EX Sobat crumple, and a better hit box on 1 more of his normals (far HK) and get rid of that stupid far mp and make it always c MP. Fix his piss poor ass dash and back dash too.

Every time I play Deejay I manage to bait people into doing what I wanted them to do, but always wonder “what was the point of me doing that?”

Lemme get my friggin random ass EX Sobat into Ultra though. Fuck it. If bitch ass Oni can have a free cross up into Ultra Deejay can have a ultra off of EX Sobat Crumple. Its not like it has invincible frames. GIVE IT!!!

I need frame traps guys <.<" i want some legit frame trapping haha. i mess around with that st.mk and cr.lp’s alot in my block strings. like cr.lpx2 walk up cr.lpx2 kinda looking stuff…but i want some legit frame traps. anything you guys can offer?

I haven´t implemented Frametraps in my game at all. But from looking at the framedata everything what leaves you with + on block should at least be viable in any form.
That is :

cl.lp (+2)
cl.lk (+3)
cl.mk(+3)
far.lk(+2)
cr.lp(+3)
EX Air Slasher (+1)

My obvious choice would be to use cl.mk or to try something with EX Air Slasher in the corner. Other than that, i have no idea :]

What I’m thinking is capcom wanted u2 for rushdown and u1 for zoning. That’s when crumple ex treads worked. Now that’s not an option utility of U1 was never evaluated.

If crumple was given to ex dread, but all fireball invincibility gone would oh take the current ex dread or the new one I proposed?

Another thing you guys probably didn’t notice is that ex mgu got nerfed. The giant hit box that comes after all of the hits shrunk. I used to use it to force people out of the footsies range and into the zoning range.

Lost to a mediocre gief because I landed U2. If I do nothing get spd. If I jump back easy U2. Back dash can be U2. I think the only safe option is jump back knee shot, but U2 might work or ex green hard.

Did Ex upper always hit shotos after cr.lpx2 back then?

… add extra frames to do dash U2 after ex machinupper to that wishlist. It’s a 1or2 frame link currently right?..Hell I dont see why Dj cant have an easy ass Ultra too.

I think he needs damage with/out his charge because characters can take more risk because it doesn’t hurt especially after being crossed up (Yun). Faster start up on S.HK or better hitbox on S.FP. Overhead would be nice. It’s hard to mixup some characters. :expressionless: Faster U1 through fireballs would be GDLK.

So, I consider DeeJay my best character… like 80% of the time. I will play him awesomely for a couple weeks at a time. Then this weekend happens. I fart around with a lot of different characters so my PP rarely gets up over 1600, but around Wednesday I had around 1200 and was tired of playing retards so I decided to just play DJ in ranked. And got up to around 2300 PP by Friday and was rising quickly. I start playing yesterday, and then again this morning and I just lost the match that got put me below 1100 PP. Now I don’t give a crap about my ranking, per se, but I care that I will randomly go from consistently winning 5 games for every loss, to consistently getting my ass handed to me by some 600 PP Ryu that does nothing but Focus Attack.

I just got destroyed by a sub 1000 Geif. I can’t win shit. I can’t read any opponent. I can’t tech any throw. I can’t poke, I can’t bait, I can’t vortex. I can’t get out of pressure. I do absolutely EVERYTHING that everyone expects me to. If they’ve done something 17 times in row on wakeup, the one time I decide to punish it, they don’t do it ever again. Nothing works anymore. I can’t even get charge timing right consistently. My LK sobat will miss a character charging his focus attack by one goddamn pixel when the damage would win me the round. Every M. Bison, Guile, and Vega player on the fucking planet develops the patience of a saint and is perfectly content to do nothing but chip me to death for 99 seconds with their completely safe forever-and-ever moves. I swear to Christ that Evil Ryu’s hurtbox just fucking disappears when you try to counter-poke him.

And this shit happens at least once a month.

This does not happen with any other character. I have inconsistent periods with Balrog and Cammy, but never just straight up 15-game losing streaks like I’ll have with Dee Jay. And then it ends. Not because I take a breath and step back. Not because I slept it off. I’ll be right in the middle of it and it will just end. I change nothing about how pissed off I am or what moves I use. I just start winning again. All the fucking ninjas dispatched to XBox live specifically trained to ruin me go home and let me win again.

Now, I’m not here for tips or general advice. I just want to know one thing. Did you guys know that hitting a punch button again during the startup of EX MGU makes it do more hits? I feel embarrassed for not knowing that prior to yesterday.
