I only had 1 match on stream at Revelations, the match vs. ClakeyD Dee Jay vs. Ibuki. Everything else offstream. Too bad too, I had a pretty fun match vs. iPeru and one vs. Chris King that would have been good to watch again later.
People commenting above are exactly right, I have put essentially zero time into AE since Marvel came out. After rewatching it, there are a lot of openings and a lot of damage I left on the table. Clark is a much better player than me but I’m still a little disappointed that I didn’t win given all the chances I had. Oh well, hopefully be Evo I’ll actually learn some AE specific things and stop depending so much on Super style Dee Jay.
So hk sobat kara’d into ex sobat gives additional range over normal EX sobat. Just plink hk ~ mk.
Don’t know if this was known.
you can also do hk sobat kara’d into EX upkicks, but it is much harder, and there is little reason to do it imo.
could probably also do into super or u1, but I can’t really check if I’m doing it correctly as I’m tagging the dummy each time cause hk super goes fullscreen. Might make these more useful for tagging fireballs, i dunno.
I’m still keeping honda as an alternate against some of the twins. It will make yuns/yangs think twice about pressing a button after i correctly block a divekick (cross up or not)… BAM~! EX HEADBUTT counter hit.
Super Honda would have destroyed the twins w/ no meter.
I finally beat DBJ 2 out of 3.
Going to post it so I can get tips from you gents.
Seems a little better because punishing lk sobat is a one frame punish when spaced against Sakura.
cant wait, i played an endless against dbj last night too, it ended 3-3 but his sakura had me confused, i started to adjust in the last 2 fights but i lost 3-1 to his sakura and won 1 on bison and 1 on his ibuki.
Does the extra range on cr.:mp: make the cross up combo j:mk:., st.:mk:, cr.:mp: xx special more consistent? It does some pretty good damage but cr.:mp: whiffed a lot in Super.
most likely character specific. Characters like Rog and Dudley might make this miss because their hurt box when in a combo is bigger on the upper part, but small on the mid to lower part.
Right. I thought I might be able to utilize Dash U1 now dash ultra is easier, but nope. It’s still total garbage. Doesn’t even hit Sagat when you dash from like 2/3rds of the screen against one of his fireballs. Which is a total shame because I think that ultra looks awesome and does a ton of damage.
U1 really needs to have the same range as EX Sobat, I don’t get what the point of the ultra is. It’s actually worse now too because with reduced fireball hitstun landing a crumple or doing ex firball -> U1 midscreen just isn’t going to happen.
It does? Oh well shit I wish I knew that earlier. I had the data mixed up in my head and got Ultra’d by a Cody earlier because of that.
Tell you what though, having some serious frustrations with Deejay today at least, after a few days of normals actually doing what i want, and being able to stop people from going fucking crazy on their sticks, its back to auto-pilot shit and I can’t get them off of me.
I can make Yun and Yang both look free from a certain distance, but once they get close it feels like even though I know its hard still can’t get them to calm the fuck down. Which normal did they remove the hittable boxes from, I remember reading that but I think I need to use it some more.
