Deejay has an unblockable jump mk in the mirror match that I’ve known about since like a week after release but it’s not very useful. From my testing his really ambiguous jump mks are actually guaranteed to be blocked no matter which direction your opponent blocks. Altho you can make it so that they block crossup but you land on the same side (open space and left corner). Or they block crossup but you hit same side and land on the other side. He may have an unblockable jump mk in the left corner against some characters but I haven’t tested it. it seems like it sometimes in matches but it could be that people are flubbing inputs trying to escape the situation so they get hit.
its only useless because the mirror match never comes up lol
sooooooo corny lol
i can’t help myself. i can’t leave this character. Even though AE doesn’t fix all of his problems and the answer to a lot of things with him is block i can’t leave him. My deejay is ass, but the journey continues.
ugh @ dhalsim/seth oh well almost to 10k bp =/
Good to hear, I thought we lost You for a second when I saw you oiling up on people on stream lol
Yeah I find both of those a pain in the ass. I find a good jump Fierce right in Seth’s face gives him something to think about. I also try and give his tick SPD setups a big old EX Dread. I find I got to be a little bit risky and unsafe against the really good Seth players because there’s no way to get in there. You’ve got to trade his jump back long arms with a slide and EX Upkicks any unsafe jumpins. Dhalsim… fucking hell I hate Dhalsim match.
I’m on about 11,000 BP right now. All I’m aiming for it to be highest in the UK, I can’t go crazy and get anything like 20k.
i still can’t believe that was you LOL
perfect with hakan? beast haha. i need to get my online spd’s right.
i can’t wait for AE. Now i can keep up with Da Knut, Viscant, and Hatrify with the rankings. I’m not going for number one, just trying to fight stronger opponents. people don’t respect a 6k deejay til they get dash ultra’d or after the match is over. if i get 15k people won’t sleep and play 110%
I have that problem. I’m trying to not look at the PP of BP when playing ranked or at least try not to pay attention to it because I have the habit of over or underestimating my opponent. Against lower PP players I’ll tend to go for the less ambiguous setups, I’ll more easily forfeit space and maybe I’ll stop using the more preferred EX punishes and try and land a tricky or flashy Super combo finish when they’ve got 10% and not use that meter to its best.
That sort of thinking has bit me in the back too many times. I’m attempting to play to my best ability regardless of who I’m playing because it really makes me much worse. Also, because I play a lot of Endless matches with friends (who won’t hang around long if I just play DJ at my best) I end up playing 90% of the roster. It’s got to the point where I have more practice with Akuma or Seth than I do with DJ so I end up with DJ being like my 4th strongest character.
Why does Dee Jay’s dmg suck so bad? :annoy:
exactly. all the sobats can only be combo’d from a one frame link with a decent hit confirm. i think they should get more dmg, doesn’t matter now because they’re easier to land in AE. I’ll take difficulty with more damage than ease with less damage.
I don’t have a problem with the links outside of lp mp mgu. I wish DJ can do lp lp mgu on the full cast though. O well I gotta stick to sobats.
I feel as his punish dmg is very low if you compared him to guile
guile’s punish damage is getting taken down (flash kick damage reduction) and deejay’s is going up in AE. Character specific stuff is fun, but if i’m playing rog i have to cut my sweep combos a normal short because his lower hitbox when crouching is further then his upper, by a couple of pixels. he can mash jab and whiff punish the sweep.
lp lp mgu works on everyone i’ve fought against. maybe its your spacing. I love ST where you could do cr. lp x2 cr lk x mgu
Well its difficult to use Dee jay’s hard normals due to different angles they have; which makes it scary to use in a counter because it may whiff. It’s easier for me to do lp mp mgu than lp lp mgu lol.
You know what’s bullshit? Go into training mode, DJ vs Guile. Jump in with jump HK or HP or whatever and then do a close lp/mp. It sometimes totally whiffs at point blank range because of the way Guile moves when he gets hit. It’s soo lame.
i’m in training mode all day. its ridiculous. there’s a range where dj can’t hit cl lp. and cl hk and is out of throw range. I wish this game has the ST crossup where you’re opponent gets knocked back into you and you get a BIG combo. That was nice to have. C. Viper has something like that too where her cl lk whiffs completely.
The guile matchup is already annoying, i don’t need any other handicaps.
i forgot what i was setup i was using against sim in training but it ended with cr. lp cr lp. sweep more “vortex” but the sweep kept whiffing even though dhalsim was in complete hitstun. It happened everytime. So i went for cr. mp and it worked. I think Dhalsim’s lower hit box is normal while his upper hitbox enlarges similar to Abel.
i think they need to increase the range where deejay can do close normals and increase there hit box sizes. DeeJay has some tiny as hitboxes.
Well in AE, j.mk has less pushback. Capcom knew that there was a problem
I just wish you didn’t have to be so close for the cl.mp to come out. It’s so much fun to use but after 2 crouch jabs you get far strong.
Just a random aside. Is it just me who uses far strong a lot in the Dudley matchup? I find it works pretty well to stuff his hard punches and keep him at bay. It’s a good anti-air in that match too.
