Dee Jay's Ultra 2 (Climax Beat) on a fightpad

Anyone happen to have a video on how to do Dee Jay’s Climax Beat on a fightpad (preferably the madcatz one.)? My thumb has started swelling at the joint from my trying to get this thing to come out on my fightpad, so you can have my preemptive thanks.

I mean I know the movements, but trying to get them out on a d-pad without some visual aid is p tough.

Wow, man climax on madcatz d-pad is a breeze. Way easier than on DS3.
Just do a little different motion: db, d, df, d, db, b, ub.
It feels extremely natural.

PS. Get a stick

Bit to early for me to say “this” yet, I just posted a video in the Deejay Video thread of my first couple of days online using Deejay + Stick, I find it has its advantages and disadvantages. Sometimes Im tempted to plug my USB Saturn pad back in (which I do anyway if Im picking a command character cause I suck with them on stick) but Im sticking with it for now.

You don’t need a stick to play Dee Jay.

If you use Ryu or something, then yeah, get a stick. I don’t think it’s worth buying a stick just to play Dee Jay.

Ofcourse, but it’s wotrh buying just to have more fun from playing the game. Pads give a sore thumb sooner or later, I enjoy the game much more while playing on the stick.

That’s you, some people prefer playing on a pad, like me. Most of my experience of playing SF is on a pad, since the Japanese release of SF2 actually, when I was about 10. So the pad feels far more natural to me, and yes, more fun.

Incidentally, I find that Ultra motion easy on a pad. Forward > back > up back. Not quite as fool proof as the standard forward > back > forward charge ultra, but it’s easy once you get the hang of it, I find up back to be the easier input after forward > back.

I’m not quite sure why you are only concerned with joystick commands. A stick is essential for linking attacks, especially p-linking.

Dee Jay’s U2 is so much easier on a stick. I’ve been using a fightpad for a little over a year now, just got a TE stick last week and I pulled off his U2 on my first try upon plugging in the stick. I agree with the thumb issue. My left thumb is ALWAYS sore now lol. Don’t get me wrong though, playing on a pad is completely fine but if you play charge characters, I’d recommend getting a stick. Your thumb will thank you.

I agree with you both
