What is it this week? MK9 Bashing, MvC3 lamenting, Capcom “Over saturating” the FG market…These are all blog topics…
this was the first time i went into this section, just to ask about well known pad players/ the pads accesability
I’m not bored, however this is my first fighting game aside from classic MK’s
We all have our opinions. 'The fuck up with your moaning son. dont like it either, but at least it was fun while it lasted
/thread
after fighting below agv phx i lost all intrest in mvc3. ;(
marvel 3 is fun
if u know how to play it
While I think this thread is worthless for the most part, it does bring up a basic fact. Capcom is so obsessed with the almighty casual market, they think a game that has any sense of depth or forces the player to use actual skill and earn victories doesn’t sell so crap like X-Factor is used as a crutch for these bozos who buy the game.
Maybe people would be more receptive to your topic if you didn’t like to point out how you’re pretty much just playing only the newest flavor of the week like MK9.
If you are actually interested in learning fighting games and overcoming your boredom, why don’t you actually take the time to learn some of the time-tested classics?
Because instead whining about how bored you get playing a new game after 2 weeks and then moving straight to the next game makes you sound like an ADD-riddled, trend-following, casual, post-SF4 noob and nobody wants to hear that shit.
Jesus srk is turning into something like wow forums. Where everyone that quits the game or has no interest anymore makes a thread and tells everyon for the 454 time why the game sucks/boring/losing quality and so on…
Actually, my first fighting game that I deeply got involved with was King of Fighters 94. The arcade at our local bowling alley had a ST cabinet that was always crowded, and I usually spent my time playing Metal Slug. I got bored one day and checked it (KoF 94) out. I’ve been hooked on fighting games ever since. Whenever I’m at the house by myself, I’m on GGPO offline practicing on games like SFA2, 3S, MSHxSF, or just about anything else with Dan or Sean. Other than that, I love CvS2 and KoF 98/2000.
The problem is there is literally no such thing as a fighting game scene around here, or even a competitive gaming scene in general. Most people just go on and on about Black Ops or Modern Warfare. Whenever you mention something about SFIV, MvC3, or any fighting game, they usually respond with something like, “Oh, that game is gay.” I mention the more popular games because those are the ones my closer friends are interested in the most, and thats pretty much what I spent the most time on. I’ve tried several times to spark more interest in creating a scene around here, but a majority of gamers in these parts are ridiculously salty when it comes to gaming. Its always the game’s fault, or the controller’s fault, and never their fault.
My original purpose of this thread really wasn’t to create a lover’s lament for MvC3 or any game in general, but to obtain honest answers from people who tired of certain games, and to figure out why and how they are tired of them. Like I said previously, I still play the shit out of MvC2, but there is just something about MvC3 that kills my interest. I really don’t even know what it is.
MVC3 is fucking terrible and I’m shocked people are still playing it.
Seriously.
I know how you feel. I can only speak for myself, but I feel suckered for buying MvC3. When I bought thought this game, I expected a lot more variety and replay/turn it on value. All you see are rush-down teams, phoenix teams and anti-phoenix/sentinel teams. It’s impossible to do zoning lockdown like MvC2. MvC3 moves a bit too fast and the damage output is absolutely ridiculous. You don’t even get time to enjoy playing or watching a match. jwong and others killing two characters in the first 8 seconds of the match?
You can’t watch/record matches, the lag is bleh and they won’t give peeps the characters they want. they also turned the game into more of a party game than a tournament fighter. people are just forcing it to be one.
Yes IMHO Capcom really dropped the ball on MvC3. Instead of getting a true sequel to MvC2, we ended up getting what I would like to call, TvC2. (TvC was a FG I hated with a passion) so yes, I’m pretty pissed off at what MvC3 turned out to be.
the tvc characters are more interesting than the mvc3 characters for me…
I was ok with Mvc3 when I realized it was Mvc2 lite with less characters and options, but now that I see just how shallow it is, not to mention slow (it only seems as fast or faster then mvc2 to the untrained eye. In reality Mvc2 has way more going on), I just can’t keep playing it. I’d rather just go play Mvc2 on psn.
Tvc was a good game. Mvc3 is meh.
Really though, why do you hate TvC? MvC3 is much more mashy/random that this isn’t TvC2.
MvC3 is faster than MvC2. You can barely see the impact of hits in combos. also it’s like EVERY high level match feels the same way. too attention on abusing imbalances. 40% block damage from d.phoenix? killing a character(or two) with a four-hit BnB in xf lvl 3? it’s a very unsatisfying, one-dimentional game. To sum it all up it’s a RANDOM experience. the day i saw alex valle doing a level 3 fx to comeback was the last draw.
I diagree. MVC2 is much faster. Rom infinite is much easier in MVC3 then in MVC2 because it doesn’t require you to triangle dash > SJ in such a short amount of time. You have all day to perform an air combo or OTGs and the character don’t jump or fall nearly as fast as they do in the old VS games. I think the hitstun freezes are shorter given the illusion of a faster game but MVC3 is much slower to me than MVC2.
which reminds me, time to plug back in my old wii just for tvc until ssf4 ae comes out, (mvc3 too bawring and blazblue is meh, i had ssf4 but i sold it thinking marvel would be amazing -_- bad mistake)
I sold my copy of MvC3 tonight with 3 other games to buy Vanquish. I’m still playing SSFIV though.
Total buyer’s remorse from MvC3 after 2 weeks, nothing about it makes me happy or justifies the 60 bucks I spent on it. I prefer MvC2 any day.
