I know it’s late, but I want to thank everyone who came out, played, watched, participated, etc. Thanks to Watson and the rest of the Super Arcade staff holding it down and giving us an awesome venue to play at. Very cool seeing G4 there (Shoutouts to Clock, making that happen), and close to 200 people hanging inside and out in the parking lot… you’re the best! On behalf of me and Upa: Thank you for all the players who helped make the tournament process smother than it could have been, by being patient and attentive… we didn’t expect this kind of turnout (That’s the biggest bracket for Super and MvC3 we’ve had I believe!) and despite all the setbacks, we managed to get it done before the sun went up. :slight_smile:

Rest assured, everything is going to be much smoother this week, so we look forward to seeing you all again! Come by early and get some practice in! I’ll be there.

Hey Everyone,

I want to thank everyone for coming last week, the hypest WNF ever with over 200 people at an Arcade!! Level|Up staff, the TO’s and Mr.Watson are working really hard to make this event the best ever and there’s many seasons left in the year!

So after discussing, with Mr.Watson on how to make Weds Night Fights a more efficient and enjoyable experience, we’re going to do the following:

Registration - instead of seeing ETR(AE) and Upa(MvC3) TOs, Mr. Watson will take registration/venue fees at the counter. Registration will be open all day every Weds at Super Arcade until 8:30PM.

Cap - Last week we tried to cap at 64 players but let more people in anyways. Due to limited space and stations, there will be a cap of 64 players for each game. To secure your spot, we suggest arriving early to avoid the cap.

Reporting Win/Loss - After you finish your match, you are responsible for reporting the win/loss. The TO’s cannot read minds and don’t have time to find you.

More AC - Mr. Watson will add a couple more giant fans to help with cooling the arcade.

Stream station/commentary rules:
Please do not use the stream station unless you are authorized to play in it.
If you’re playing a match on the stream station, write your gamertag/nickname/what side you’re playing on (P1 or P2) on a post it and hand it to the stream producer. Please write legibly!
Do not interrupt the commentators or sit in their stations unless you are authorized to.

Sub-commentators:
James/Ultradavid need breaks and have to play matches during WNF so we’ll need sub-commentary. If you would like to commentate, please inquire in this thread and state why you should be eligible for WNF commentary. If we approve, you will be an authorized WNF sub-commentator and have access to the commentary stations. Keep in mind, we run a professional yet grassroots production, so choose your words wisely.

Xbox360 call to arms:
We’re short xbox360s (HDMI Compatible only) and MvC3 game disks. I’m buying a new Xbox360 every week so the following will be a temporary fix:
If you can help us with an Xbox360 with MvC3***(Latest patch, all characters unlocked including DLC) for the duration of the event, you’ll automatically be RSVP’d for WNF and your venue fee will be waived.(Note:You’re still responsible for the buy-in).*

Alex, I can bring my 360 and both games with the latest patches and all DLC characters. I can bring an additional Asus monitor if needed too.

What’s important is the data on the hard drive.

We need the latest patch, all characters unlocked(Sent,Hsienko,Akuma,Taskmaster), and DLC (Jill and Shuma). We know this is a lot to ask, but Micro$oft isn’t so TO friendly =/

We’d prefer if the owner of the xbox had a copy of mvc3 so its easier to keep track of and most likely that set up could have everything unlocked.

i can bring my xbox 360 along with my copy of MVC3. i do have everything patch and all characters unlocked but i don’t have the DLC characters =/. If you want me to bring it just send me a message

I think all we’ll need is a few stations with DLC anyways.

The stream station is covered and Kapwan has a system with DLC.

I will also provide a station with DLC so that makes 5 for MvC3 with everybodys contributions so far.

Thank God AE is disc only with no DLC or unlocking chars BS haha.

I have 4 set ups ready for AE, might need 1 more.

I wish to be a sub commentator because I enjoy giving my opinion on Fighting games. Most importantly, I care about fighting games and am very passionate about them(aka the most important ingredient).
Why I would like to get elected: I’ve been following the WNF training sessions since it started at SHGL’s garage. I have seen what WNF has been, what it is turning into, and what it will continue to morph into the future. Attendance is also very important and will make sure to attend all WNF.
On actual commentating, I will do my best to coordinate my efforts with UltraDavid and/or Mr SaltyChen and if its not enough, I’ll learn. I’ll also follow any guidelines you set.

I can bring my 360 with Marvel (has DLC + all characters unlocked) if you still need any. I should be getting to Super Arcade between 6-6:30, traffic permitting.

I would also like to apply to be a sub-commentator. I already do commentary for the Inland Empire Battlegrounds and we (usually) keep it PG-13 so I know how not to swear or say racist/blue jokes, etc. In terms of game knowledge I’m most knowledgeable about Marvel so that would probably be where I should commentate if chosen. I would enjoy being paired with a more colorful commentary guy (someone like Aris for example) as my partner Kirrus/HungryGamer is generally the hype guy and I’m the analysis / random trivia guy.

I definitely understand grass roots organizations as the IEBG is also one.

Also, shoutouts to Jint and AndyOCR helping me take over the reigns as honorary AE TO’s this week while I sit on the mic. Be as nice to them as you would be to me! (Or as mean, whatever suits you. :slight_smile: ) They know what they’re doing, so they’ll probably be just as angry and pushy as I am. Haha.

WNF 1.2 WNF:AE Ranking Points in effect!

What are WNF ranking points?
Ranking points is a measure of tournament performance at Weds Night Fights.

For what games?
Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition / Marvel vs Capcom 3

How does it work?
Players will compete in a 64man tournament and battle it out through top 8. When the tournament is over, the top 8 players will receive WNF ranking points(RP) and entered in our database. Note: *RPs will reset when a new season begins.

How many points do you get for placing top 8?
1st Place = 8 pts. 2nd Place = 7 pts. 3rd Place = 6 pts. 4th Place = 5 pts.
5th Place = 4 pts. 5th Place = 4 pts. 7th Place = 3 pts. 7th Place = 3pts.

What happens next season?
Top 8 players will be seeded starting in Season 2.
Ranking Point totals will also reset back to 0 after every Season is over.

Are there any incentives?
Weds Night Fights ranking point system will seed players by skill into this year’s SoCal Regionals 2011! The average scores of all seasons will determine your respective seed for UMvC3 and SSF4:AE brackets!

Any other incentives?
There will be a surprise at every Season Finale so… Practice up Kids!

What about last week’s WNF 1.1?
