WNF at super arcade was the shit!!!
I been goin to WNF now for a bit… and i love it… the competition and all that good stuff… but I have one tiny complaint, thats been bothering me for awhile…
I hate the fact that SSF4 AE is played on Xbox… the actual arcade cabinet is ran at the same speed PS3 does (yes a serious F*** you to capcom for not making everything the same)… so for those of us that play mainly at arcades its frustrating dropping shit that you know very well you would not have dropped if you were playing on PS3 or Arcade… considering 2 out of 3 of the options… PS3 and arcade are the same speed, WNF SSF4 should be played on PS3… after all we’re all at WNF to level up… and EVO is played on PS3!.. so why practice week after week on something that is not the same…
Now i know the people that play mainly on Xbox also hate playing on ps3 since its slightly slower for them… but considering evo is ps3… and the arcade cabinet is PS3 speed… it should be a must to be played on PS3!
regardless i’ll be at WNF week after week pretty much because its a great experience and a way to level up for sure… but just thought i let myself be heard… and i know there are a bunch of ppl that feel the same way I do
PS. Good shit to Gabriel 3rd place in AE, a Super Arcade regular showing everybody he is not to be F**KED WITH!!!

WNF was spectacular. Only problem was the heat due to a maximum capacity of attendance and it was a little unorganized for the sign ups. It will be taken care of by next week. ps. i am the dude that works for Ralph that owns Super Arcade, FFA and Japan Arcade. If there were any other problems, let me or Watson know.
Just to echo merciless’ concern. ps3s would be the smarter choice IMO. Also gotta organize the event better and perahps invest in some bigger fans/ air conditioning units?
one more suggestion I think would be nice… Along with giving us the players, the brackets should also assign which monitors to play on…Fewer players per monitor might make it a little easier to establish order…
Leaving it up to a dozen players to decide line order is a nightmare to say the least…
Perhaps a simple monitor 1,2,3,4…1,2,3,4 would be best.

Throughout the years, we’ve been plagued with close to arcade ports for many SF’s and not many have been true to ‘Arcade Perfect’. The players simply got used to whatever port came out. Also, arcade versions are no longer the standard in fighting games and hasn’t been since early 2000s. Tournaments today are predominantly played on console and so are the gatherings.
The whole EVO is on PS3 argument is silly to me because you see just about the same top players in the top32 which win majors nationwide on any console given to them. Most of them hate PS3 because it is slower but manage to condition themselves 1 week or a few days prior to the tournament.
My suggestion to you is to get used to it because this is part of tournament life.

We’re currently working out a new structure for sign ups and bracket calling.Last night was indeed chaotic but we learned a lot from it so rest assured we’ll have a better system by WNF:AE 1.2!

Just noticed that this is becoming the thread for all the WNF events… in that case the forum RSVP system might not be such a good idea since everyone who said “Yes” attending last week is still considered attending for this week. Wonder if there’s a way to get that changed.
