Hi Everyone!
Pixels Video Games in Ames, IA is holding their annual Child’s Play charity marathon and invited us in to battle it out in some fighting games. I’ll be organizing the fighting game portion of the event. You check out the details for the event here: http://www.pixelsvideogames.com/?page_id=185
Last year, they managed to raise $800. Let’s help them smash that number this year!
Fighting game tournaments will only be on Saturday, December 1st and registration begins at 10:30AM. This is a fairly small venue, so we may have to cap entries at 32 per game.
Location:
Pixels Video Games
120 Hayward Ave Ste 1
Ames, IA 50014
**Registration: **

You will need to register for each game that you wish to play. Please pre-register if you think you’ll be attending. This will help me with planning and will get your name on the bracket in case we need to cap the entries.
As a side note, you do not have to register for Challonge to register for the event, but you get benefits such as instant results to your e-mail and past event tracking for any event that uses Challonge.
All fees will be collected on site and are as follows:
Venue fee: $10 and will go directly to Pixels’ Child’s Play donation fund.
Entry fee (per game): $5
Games:
Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition - 2/3 rounds, 2/3 matches.
Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 - 3/5 matches.
Persona 4 Arena - 2/3 rounds, 2/3 matches.
Grand finals for all games will be 3/5 matches.
All games will be running on XBOX 360, although we may have a PS3 setup or two. Controllers are not provided, so please bring your own wired controller or joystick. Programmable and Turbo controllers are allowed, however their functions are not.
Game rules are detailed on the pre-registration pages for each game at http://29thchamber.challonge.com
Payouts (Subject to change):
8-9 entrants: Winner Take All
10-32 entrants: 70/20/10 (1st/2nd/3rd place)
Schedule (Tentative):
Registration 10:30AM - Noon
First matches start at 1PM
I’m hoping to have at least one station set up to record matches. Unfortunately, we aren’t set up to stream any fighting games unless someone would like to volunteer for these duties.
Pixels is also hosting their own game tournaments with some neat prizes. First game announced is Nintendo World Championships and they’ll be playing that on Friday, November 30th. They’ll be using a reproduction cart and the winner of the tourney wins the cart itself! Keep an eye on further game announcements by liking their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/PixelsVideoGames
Forgive me if I left out any details. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, feel free to e-mail me at kevin.lovan@gmail.com or visit and post in our Facebook group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/the29thchamber/
Hope to see you there!
