Death Cargo

“It’s not our fault that the game plays like shit and is full of bugs, the fat kotaku haters forced us to release it too early!”

So i take it if they don’t like you they can just bitch out and not give any permission? If that’s the case…ugh.

Wait. That should be a Full, Complete Game? I quote @Blindknagg‌ on this. The Kotaku coverage may have forced their hand on releasing something really really quick, but still, why put pre-orders and claim a release when the game looks still in a pretty rough beta stage?

One thing is clear, at least customers are receiving their copy and getting what they paid for, and that’s a good thing. Let’s just hope Necrostorm fixed the bugs with patches… Even if the whole “unique copy” thing kinda boggles my mind about how they are going to do it. Compile a different patch for every single copy? X_x

I believe the game was made in Multimedia Fusion 2 which I don’t think it’s possible to release patches for. They would have to push out a full game every time.

Lol, that surely would backfire to them, everyone who finally “gets the game” will put them on the blast for releasing an obvious alpha.

I think that sometime in 2012 (or maybe 2013) they said that the game was moved to a different engine and pretty much rewritten from scratch or something like that. Maybe it was even said pages ago in this thread.

Yeah I remember them saying that they rewrote it in C++

I doubt it, but I can check once I get my hands on a crack. I’m 99% sure its made in gamemaker.

I’m uploading a short vid to youtube of some gameplay footage and a few of the current glitches. I’ll post once it’s done.

The thing is: PR controversy aside, if/when this game gets patched it could be a pretty fun MK clone.

Yep this seems to have been the deciding factor, if it weren’t for Kotaku I very highly doubt we would see anything legit from them. From what people are saying this “full game” isn’t even a beta quality product, so I think it’s safe to assume this was vapourware, the quality of the product is a reflection of them.

Wow. So legal action with the BBB, Paypal, internet slander across multiple message boards and news coverage was enough to FORCE them to release a BETA of a game that was basically scrapped and turned into a scam.

I think you guys should STILL take this up with the authorities.

Been lurking this thread a while in regards to this game, and I know joining to post now will no doubt annoy one member.

Anyway, I’ve got it. I’ve played it. Ask any questions if you need to.

As for the Multimedia Fusion question, this is what the game shows as in Task Manager: Multimedia Fusion Stand Alone Application
My understanding was that this is still the core and they added their own bits of code to it.

of characters? System mechanics?

I’m very interested in this.

Send this crap over to some hack monsters. I wanna play it.

Not the best quality footage, but for anyone who was interested, here you go.

I was going to reply but the above video does a better job.

Also, the opponents on Hard are real easy to game at the moment. Not sure if that’s because the difficulty isn’t actually changing.

loooooooooooool wow

I’m also interested how character differ, how the special moves are done (QCF, Charge, 360, etc…) in how the glitches influence the gameplay, like unblockable combos, infinite combos, etc…

By glitches I think they mean GLITCHES. Actual graphical discrepancies, character models flickering and disappearing.

This shit isnt even playable.

Hack monsters…ASSAMBLE. Free copies for everyone.

Because of the current bugs it’s hard to dig in. Silent and Leech are slow; that’s about as deep as I’ve gotten. All moves are D-F-button for D-B-button. Biggest combo I’ve gotten is six so far. It’s hard to string stuff together or test any more due to the current glitches. In training the characters disappear when not doing something so it’s hard to practice.

Well… Al i can say is… “Plasma”. Though, i’ll give them credit where it’s due: I kinda like the names of the stages. But the rest is a pretty big glitchfest.

Anyway, i’m still curious about the control scheme.
