Death Cargo

i cant even navigate the menus. are there keyboard controls? my joystick wont work input wise, and im pressing every button on my keyboard with the joystick unplugged and nothing happens :T

I don’t know you can implement Squalo’s ‘you’re already dead’ weapon into a fighting game without hideously imbalancing it.

Holy shit it’s Tattoo Assassains 2012 in this bitch!!!

Maybe they won’t die when they are killed.

people die if they are killed

They improved the game overal (that was easy). But still:
1. Layout is messed up (Looks like 8=“Fast”, 7=“Lunge (lol)”, 4=“Strong” , 9=“T.W.” NOT 7=“Fast”, 8=“Lunge”, 9=“Strong” , 4=“T.W.”)
2. No button config (and preset is messed up too)
3. No training mode. (and VS is unusable because of 2.)
4. Every standing attack misses crouching opponent.
5. There are still few vulnerable frames on wakeup
**6. **Specials whiffs on juggled opponent but normal attacks don’t.
7. Now we have command moves. (get hyped… ooooooo)

They trying their best but they don’t have a grasp of “what fighting game is”.

This shit is so fucking awful that it did a 180 like Randy Savage all the way to hilarious.

I don’t really see a problem with standing attacks whiffing crouchers. I mean, its different, and it’d take some getting used to, but its not an inherent flaw. It could be good and an interesting twist on footsies.

VIDS PLEASE!

THIS is what I was talking about. This should be the reason that characters can’t jump over each other.

For a video, you can just skim through this

it seems eh, i dislike that your opponenet seems to get gored even if you don’t want to do a deathrip, so if you don’t like gore, it doesn’t look like there’s a way to avoid it. Before, I would just think you just didn’t use deathrips and you’d be fine.

" What’s the point to play a game which one and only feature is GORE if don’t like it."

if you like fighting games and want to support the niche gaming industry, buying this would show your support. Playing it, however, is a different story entirely.

If you can get past the “press any button” screen, you are better at the demo than me. This game started off looking interesting then turned in to a train wreck, then a bomb on said train went off, then the explosion set off a chain reaction of train wreckage. I don’t get why they would simply chose not to figure out features that are pretty much essential to a fighting game for it to be accepted like simply having the ability to jump over your opponent and cross up.

I’m scratching my head at this. It’s a pretty big oversight if you just look at a bunch of fighting games. These guys have 0 clue, optimism is fine but saying you don’t see a problem and then asserting that means one is not there seems inconsistent. One view is based on something solid (other fighting games), the other one on pure conjecture (it’s different, it could be good). None of the last 4 points in the post you quoted are really inherent flaws if you look at it this way (which isn’t the case).

IMO, if someone takes fighters somewhat seriously and thinks a game is truly offensively bad, they should ridicule it, call it bad openly etc. I have some sympathy for the little guy, the independent developer whatever, but that doesn’t mean they can just peddle crap and expect to receive support for it.

It kind of just seems like this company has no programmers, looks like it’s all the work of designers/artists who think they can figure the functionality out for themselves. I have a lot of respect for programmers, the amount of problems they have to work through and seemingly simple answers to complex problems that I just would not have thought of is crazy.

To my knowledge there’s never been a completed fighting game that had either jumps that couldn’t go over the other person (in 2d only, of course) or had standing attacks whiff crouchers, so we don’t have anything to go off on them being bad. I also don’t see how number 6 is a flaw at all, plenty of games have weird juggle rules.

This doesn’t mean I don’t think it will be terrible, just that I think it might not be terrible, to clarify.

More stuff:

  1. Everything is punishable after blocking because there is no blockstun. And i think that every move in the game has only one active frame.
  2. I think that “vulenerable frames on wakeup” actually is “OTG system which doesn’t work for now”.
  3. Plasma’s Thinking Weapon is braindead. 2+TW & jTW is unblockabe. 2TW is more like Burst from GG (but you can use it every 5 seconds) and j2TW is the only choice for jump in because…
  4. OMG OMG they really made “”"“REALISTIC HITBOXES”""" they “floating” after neutral stance and you even can’t jump on a crouching opponent and hit him with anything besides jTW (which has huge attack box).

Sounds like a fighting game being made by people with a very shallow knowledge of fighting games. Like super casual players. Too bad, it was kinda neat graphically.

I don’t think they necessarily have little knowledge, or else they probably wouldn’t try to make a fighting game. I simply think they can’t figure out the technical aspects of making their own engine that fits all the conventions.

my only question now is: will this be better than bloodstorm?
