Well, being a long time lurker (and having learned a lot by lurking), i thought it was a good time to start giving something back.
I have an acquaintance who worked in the Police (and now owns an awesome bar), so she may be able to help me check out if this situation falls in a “gray area” worth calling the Guardia di Finanza (just a curiosity, though: is there an equivalent of this office in USA and other countries, and if there is, how is it called? Asking just for information and to use a term known by everybody so i can be easier to understand) for an investigation. If she can help me check things out and she even has some ties with some of them, it may be even easier to get into this without going “Commando” to them, because i want to clear this mess up, but i don’t want to screw it by doing something wrong.
Though… What if they’re calling that specific law because they will hunt down every single hater and punch them to death? XD
And then say “I was just defending my software, it was self defense! You can’t put me in prison!”. Just Kidding, of course. They probably just used the first numers that came into their minds to scare people. Unless i’m not up to date with that law.
To be more precise and certain, i cross-referenced that “Art. 45” between 3 Italian Legal Codes:
1)The Penal Code. That’s the “no criminal charges if…” one
2)The Civic Code. In this case, that specific Article and Comma are related to the living place of a Family (not going into specific too much)
3)The Digital Administration Code (a, specific, Italian Code related to virtual pratices): In this case, that Articles covers PUBLIC structures. NOT Private Bussines.
In either case, they are still claiming crap, because they are a private company.
I know it doesn’t have to make sense, but from a loading/optimizing point of view is stupid.
As it is written, it works like this:
1)Player selects Arena n. 4
2)The game browses the folders to find the "Arena 4 Folder"
3)The game finds the folder and start loading the assets
4)The Arena n. 4 is Loaded
5)The Match ends, and the player wants to use Arena 2 in the next match.
6)The game SUPPOSEDLY dumps away the Arena 4 data and restarts from point 2.
I mean, if the game every time an arena is selected has to go check the folder and then load the files, shouldn’t be better to pre-cache at least the index of the main game folder/sub folders/assets structure, so that the game doesn’t have to go and play Treasure Hunt for everything?
They obviously didn’t know how to make a game, which is why this got turned into a scam in the first place. You expect them now to come up with a good lie? They aren’t lying their way out of this one, we’ve got them. FBI international fraud is looking into it, PayPal internal division is as well, they will soon be in prison getting pounded up their con artist little tight Italian assholes. Fuck em, it’s what they deserve.
Maybe they will send master blizak away too, although it’s obvious how hard he has tried to cover his own ass. I’ll visit him in jail, and bring him a copy of Adam Chappass or whatever that piece of shit is called.
But come on, even a newbie with Game Maker should be able to create a script to pre-cache things. With a bit of scripting, you should even be able to pre-cache and prioritize what needs to be loaded first and what later.
If they only put half of the inventive and effort they put into this scam and covering ass act, into the game, we might have a finished (or semi-finished) product in our hands.
And don’t worry. If things check out how i think they will, they’ll have even the italian FinCEN on them, courtesy of yours truly.
